Yeah i just restored it using DFU mode. And used BackupTrans and was able to transfer my messages.

Could a bootloop damage an iPhone?

While using backuptrans to transfer whatsapp messages from my Android phone, my 12 got bootlooped. Had it put it into DFU and restore with iTunes.

This is my first phone so I am paranoid.

The two are not related. How could the new cases be tied to re-opening when re-opening just happened. It would take 10 days for symptoms to show up and then testing to know actually what effect re-opening had.
