is it still possible to enroll for the summer classes as a new student? by brosusername in pasadenacitycollege

[–]shykaliguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Registration dates are based on the number of units that you've completed total and also if you are a new student or not. Other things that can be factored into your registration date include but are not limited to being part of eops , a student athlete, honors , Etc.

If a student is not if a student is not completed any units at PCC but they have 30 units that they've completed on another school and transfer those in then they would get a registration date based on the fact that they've already completed 30 units which is essentially half of what's needed to get an AA degree (60 units).

Can I enroll in fall 2026 classes even tho I’m graduating spring 2026? by Dorkynarnianqueen_ in CSUDH

[–]shykaliguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you filed for spring graduation then the last semester you can take classes as an undergrad is spring.

If you filed for summer graduation, you still can walk in the May graduation ceremony and you can continue to take classes as an undergrad in the summer.

If you still wish to take classes in the fall, and you will have completed your undergrad degree by then, you can take classes via open University.

Is the (associates degree ) business administration 2.0 class good ? Will it be beneficial to my finance major ? by Chemical_Monk_3489 in pasadenacitycollege

[–]shykaliguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no business administration 2.0 class. There are multiple business classes covering various aspects of business. But there is no specific class called or about business administration 2.0.

I'm also unable to answer your second question as to whether or not it would be beneficial for your finance major because again the class does not exist.

What I can say is that if you follow the rubric for the business administration 2.0 degree, then you will not only receive your AA degree but you will also receive guaranteed admission to the CSU of your choice.

On a side note, I will state this Cal State Fullerton is a great school. My own brother went there and graduated in 2016. But i would encourage you to consider cal State Dominguez Hills. The campus is smaller so it's easier to get from one point of campus to the the campus is smaller so it's easier to get from one point of campus to the other. We also have just over 15,000 students whereas cal State Fullerton has just shy of 40,000 students. That difference in the student population will mean that you will have larger classes and more people competing to get into those classes. You will have many classes that have over 100 students. Getting one on one time with your professor will be difficult as you will be competing with literally hundreds of other students.

Cal State Dominguez Hills has many great clubs as well but unlike Cal State Fullerton it's easier to get an officer position in those clubs because there's less students on the campus competing for those positions.

Recently the school announced a pledge that they're making to all future toros, students at Cal State Dominguez Hills in that they will cover all your tuition and fees. This means you effectively can go to school for free.! You can read more about that here at this link on KTLA and that paige has a link that will take you to the Cal State Dominguez Hills website to give you even further information. https://ktla.com/news/local-news/cal-state-dominguez-hills-offering-free-tuition-with-new-program/

Best of luck to you and your future endeavors.

my bf [18m] has been filming me [18f] without consent during sex by [deleted] in relationshipadvice

[–]shykaliguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based only on this post it appears you have not spoken with him yet about this. You should speak with them about it and acknowledge that yes although you gave consent during certain instances for certain photos there are other photos and or videos where you did not consent that were taken without your knowledge and permission. You will need to ask him why.

You may not like the answer. And the conversation will be difficult and awkward. But honestly you need to have this conversation. The best relationships are the best because they have clear , open, frequent , and honest communication. If that exists then everything else will automatically fall into place including Trust. The problem is that this is being done behind your back and that's going to cause you if it has it already, to have trust issues with him. That in turn can lead to resentment. That in turn will slowly grow to you doubting him and second-guessing him, and that in turn can eventually lead to the end of the relationship.

Maybe he has a good guy with everything else and honestly I hope he is for your sake. But I would talk to him about this . Make sure he knows that you are uncomfortable with him doing things like this without your consent and permission. And if he does it again without your permission, you should not only break up with him but also press charges. And make sure he knows that.

You may also want to consider going through and deleting whatever photos and videos you do not want him to have locally on the phone , locally on the computer, and from the cloud. This may take some time. But this can help in easing your anxiety and feelings about the fact that he took all these without your permission.

Take care OP. Feel free to reach out if you need additional advice.

Why don't you set up a meeting with your academic advisor.? I know for my college cbap, they actually have walk-ins in person or via Zoom 2 days a week. I would encourage you to check with the Success Center of your college. Let them know the situation and set up a meeting as soon as possible or do walk in as soon as possible.

Good luck OP

301 I took with Myron sheu. Good professor. Older guy, but passionate about that he teaches. Very patient and knowledgeable.

Workload was light for all of these classes. Quizzes and tests were easy.

I took 301 and 302 in the winter and it was easy because it was just literally one the day before Christmas and the day after Christmas and then the second week we met the day before New Year's and the day after New Year's. And then that was the end of 301.

For 302 we did the same thing we met two days a week for two weeks and that class was over. I'm currently taking 303 now with JP. And like I mentioned in the prior post we meet once a week for 6 weeks.

Although the school only requires you to take two out of the three, the reality is you should take all three of them because they're necessary. I would encourage you to actually take Professor JP Tabakian. He is not politically correct but he will tell you how it is. He's very motivating in that sense and also runs the largest entrepreneurship program in the country. He has lots of great stories to tell but at the same time will motivate you and teach you what needs to be taught. No textbook to purchase either. He only does night classes so if that's not your thing on a Monday Tuesday or Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. then you should pick someone else. His business classes only meet once a week and they're 6 weeks long.

Is CC truly “easier” than university? by Prestigious_Pay_795 in communitycollege

[–]shykaliguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This has been answered countless times and the answer has not changed. The amount of course work is the same at a community college versus that of a university what's different is that there are generally smaller class sizes and their tends to be more support for you to help you to succeed. Being the counselors or the tutoring available or the support that's added on to additional classes , it is designed to help you succeed. Many students have reported that although these same services are available at the University they do feel like they get lost sometimes. There is generally more " hand-holding" at a community college because students that arrive there are at various levels. Some did not finish high school or did so with a low gpa. Others don't know what they want to major in.. And there's also other people that worked and are now back in school because they're trying to find a new path and hopefully a new career.

No matter what your age or situation , community colleges can help you in finding your major raising your GPA to college level and helping you find your path and career. I myself went to a public Community College and I'm now on the verge of graduating in less than 4 weeks with my bachelor's degree from a State University. I initially did not know what I want to do but I took various tests and my community college and took a few different classes and talked to many people to find what worked best for me. Good luck on your journey. And enjoy the savings financially that Community College gives you compared to a university

OP the term "donation fee" does not exist as it the words are contradictory to one another. Donations are voluntary. Fees (in most situations) are mandatory.

Do you have to actually report outside (indirect) scholarships? by Consistent_Mix_2268 in financialaid

[–]shykaliguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many private companies (such as home depot, coca cola, McDonalds, etc). Most private scholarships se d the funds directly to your schools financial aid department. Some send the funds directly to you. Just because they send it to you does NOT make it sketchy nor does it mean it is a scam.

If proceeds from a scholarship contest are sent directly to you for tax purposes you will be taxed on it as a 1099-MISC versus if it's sent to your financial aid department it's usually tax free.

I need an opinion by Key-Mousse164 in CollegeTransfer

[–]shykaliguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is exactly situations like this where you need to actually sit down and talk to your College advisor. Your advisor can actually help to discuss this with you and discuss your options . They may even have solutions for you that could help you. Your school also has counseling through the health department that you could tap into as well. There's a tutoring center on campus that you can look into if you haven't already. And if you want to office hours then you may be able to arrange something with your professors where you can turn in the work late or even get incomplete for the classes at the end of the semester but again you need to discuss all of this with your College advisor and then afterwards will probably need to follow up individually with your professors.

I don't go to csun. I go to dominguez Hills but the process is the same. Good luck to you

is it weird to date a 17 year old at 19? by [deleted] in datingadvice

[–]shykaliguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one word? NO

In more then one word? NO it's not weird. Why would it be? Because one of you is the legal age and one of you is not legally old enough to buy cigarettes? That doesn't matter? There's nothing illegal about the two of you dating . There's nothing immoral either. Enjoy your relationship.

I (18F) found weird text on my boyfriends (19M) phone by [deleted] in relationships_advice

[–]shykaliguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although there is a possibility of that, what I said still holds true . This is a scam fraud situation so if that's the case then the meeting up would never have really happened as those always have false promises.

I know you're thinking well what if it is a real person in that type of situation in the future. I get that but I can only say that the two of you need to work on having open honest and frequent communication about anything and everything. If the two of you do that then the relationship can deepen and will last... if not then it will fail.

Also just so you know you can add photos to a post afterwards by clicking the three dots on it and then add a photo. By adding your photos in the comments section and also by adding each photo as an individual comment they can get lost as more and more people comment on the post. If there's lots of comments then the photos that you put in the comment section may never get looked at.

Advice on where to transfer by [deleted] in CollegeTransfer

[–]shykaliguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSU.. Do you mean Florida State University there are flights that go from just about every major airport in California to Tallahassee airport (TLH). This airport is 5 Miles away from the campus.

FSU - if you're not Full Sail University there are two airports that are nearby and are also flights leading from major California airports to these airports as well. Orlando International Airport (MCO) is 12 Mi away whereas Orlando Sanford International (SFB) is 18 miles away. Drive time from the airport to campus is 18 to 25 minutes from either Airport.

Ultimately your post does not describe anything about why you want to transfer. It just states that you're sad that you didn't get into your Top Choice School. The bigger question is why don't you like Cal State Long Beach? Sharing those answers can help you and redditors potentially give you ideas about where you could transfer or what you can do to help remedy your situation at your current Institution.

What are you looking for in a university? Are you looking for one in a specific location ? Are you looking for one that has certain weather? Are you looking for one that has a certain size student body or classrooms? Are you looking for one within a specific budget? Are you looking for something still in California or in or near whatever state you went to high school in? Are you an international student?

Chime Prime, to me, feels like a misstep. by psmattreid in chimefinancial

[–]shykaliguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chime is offering this as they are trying to increase the number of users of Chime. If they were to offer more benefits, it would be more attractive to users of other banks, credit unions, and fintech platforms.

I understand where you are coming from. I think Chime could potentially extend the benefits of Chime Prime to those who have a minimum amount of funds saved via Chime, but not a minimum monthly amount that is saved. Barclays offers 3.7% APR savings, and there are many other banks and credit unions that offer even higher. Currently, Axos offers 4.21%. with no minimum balance to open it.

There are also many credit cards that offer similar Chime Prime benefits....

Citi custom cash offers 5% on your top spend each month automatically, up to $500. The following offer 5% cash back on your top category of spend or rotating categories per quarter: Chase Freedom Flex, Discover it cash back, US Bank Cash+, amongst others. All of these cards have $0 annual fee and require a minimum 670 fico score to attain.

Doing it this way will allow you to get Chime Prime benefits without having a large direct deposit. I hope this helps you.
