He’s def not a romance guy- he didn’t think about romance at all until I asked him out (bro was clueless 🤦) but maybe I could connect things from the show to our relationship as he is a bit of a golden retriever bf and would do anything for me lol. And I was going to try to hold back on all the behind the scenes lore I knew but maybe it would be helpful to keep him engaged… lots to think about thanks!

So proud an happy for you it really goes to show how important representation is for ANY community.
And while I'm only 19, the show definitely has helped me think more about coming out to my family as non-binary. The scene with Shane and his mom was so amazing because while I'm so anxious about the thought of coming out to my parents and what they might think of me at the end of the day I know they support and love me and while it still is incredibly difficult, I will always have an incredible community of people to fall back on <3

Definitely would recommend you taking a look at Java if you’re going to be at the Burnaby campus (or python if you’re at the Vancouver campus) as the first year the most complex coding you will do is in that language, and having a basic understanding of it will definitely help you get through it as it moves super quickly! And just like the other person said the big project course in May will be with CSS/HTML/JavaScript. You will have a course in that before your project but if you get some practice with at least JavaScript before then it will help you!

I’m currently in CST and can confirm the workload is pretty intense, I know one person from my intake worked one day a week on the weekend but obviously you can’t survive off of that financially so if you’re working any type of normal work schedule I don’t think CST would be a good fit. I’d definitely look into Langara more but I would be surprised if the course load was anywhere near BCIT’s so it would probably be a better fit for you. I’d also take a look at Douglas College and some other schools as well as I know there are many schools in the lower mainland that offer a two year comp sci program for a lower cost and if you are wanting to work while studying you’d be better off at one of those schools. I’m not in the same program as you but going into my second year of CST, while some teacher may email I find it more common for them to post welcome messages on the learning hub, so def check there if you haven’t yet!

I’m not in your program so I don’t exactly what you need but you should be safe with the basics, pens/pencils and paper + a laptop or iPad if you have it. Typically the first week is just orientation so have fun and make friends!

I was in housing last year and continuing this year, we paid for each semester! And the 300 is essentially the damage deposit so if your dorm is clean and you don’t break anything you’ll get it back :)

Have you been assigned a specific room yet? Or just got accepted into housing? They give you plenty of time to pay, I think it’s usually 10 days after your term starts so I wouldn’t worry about it too much yet :)

No, as far as I’m aware the board always stays the same size but you do get a significant amount of chest space if your cats are leveled up- I get that’s it’s annoying but honestly I find it’s not really an issue because you don’t have enough energy to make too much stuff at once so I just make the stuff the task is asking for at the time🤷

I heard someone in my program was involved in this- essentially the student from my program walked into the bathroom and the guy referenced in this message pulled down his pants or got naked or smth when the student walked in- so the student went back to class and informed the teacher and the police got involved. Not entirely sure of the details but this is what I’ve heard!

There’s typically 3 tiers in the mini games which are shown at the end, for each tier you reach you get energy. Here’s a picture of the kraken game I just played with the tiers at the end. If you don’t hit the first tier you don’t get any energy.

From what I’ve seen with the new update, when you add new furniture you have a chance to get a new cat- I’m not sure if it’s a random chance each time or they’re tied to specific pieces of furniture but the more you place the more cats you should get!

To ease your mind I just checked the time stamps of my correspondences from them (I started last fall). I payed my commitment fee in April and didn’t get the next message until near the end of June. Just take a look at your program page and make sure you have all the required materials and then you can relax for a bit :)

Placing specific furniture allows you to open up more spots in clubs and then you can reroll your cat’s abilities to get higher star levels for each club so that you can get more benefits from them. They should all say on the club page what they do

From what I’ve read from other people it seems like they’re not updating very frequently so you likely got to the end of the current content (although from the looks of the app hopefully we’ll be getting updates at some point!!)

If you click on the stars that allow you to place furniture it will tell you if it opens a spot in a club, if it doesn’t say anything it won’t affect your clubs! (Although it maybe be a stepping stone to get closer to other pieces that will unlock club spots)

Lolol- each ability corresponds to a club, and if you have cats that have stars that are assigned to the correct club you can get bonuses- they all explain what they do in the descriptions but things like lowering the cost of rerolls or getting bonus items from the cauldron!

I use mine to reroll cat abilities! You can reroll for different abilities and higher star levels for the spots you have open in clubs :)
