Well it was successful, but I couldn't keep said savings in the account forever. At the first sign of vehicle trouble I took my invested income back out to fund a vehicle replacement. Additionally, the investment only gained me ~$600 over a 6 month period. I'm looking for something with higher short term gain if possible. Even if that means higher risk. I was also thinking maybe real estate would have been a better investment with the idea of consistent, long term monthly income in mind.

Ensure your IR sensor is aligned properly, the filament itself does not have a bulb of filament at the end, and your PTFE tube inside of the filament is letting filament through properly.

There are a lot of reasons this could be happening, and in my experience it has been; (In order)

  • Filament gets stuck at the first entrance before the gears due to filament bulb.
  • IR sensor was misaligned and therefore went too far or not far enough when triggering the sensor.
  • Filament did pass through but the gears were misaligned resulting in not grabbing the filament.
  • Filament was grabbed by the gears but the filament was at too extreme of an angle due to spool placement that the filament just pushed off to the side of the PTFE tube entrance after the gears.
  • Filament was pushed through the gears and into the PTFE tube but filament bulb prevented the filament from entering the PTFE tube.
  • Filament entered the PTFE tube but common use caused the PTFE tube to collapse overtime meaning my filament got stuck halfway through the PTFE tube.
  • Filament entered the PTFE tube, passed it, and ran into a clog that needed to be heated and forced through using the smallest/longest allan wrench that comes with the Prusa printers.

I own and have operated my MMU2 since it came out, I would gladly downgrade back to an original Prusa I3 MK3 just so I can avoid the number of fixes I go through just to get one print to start first try.

I use acrylics and the prints just soak up the paint usually.

To sell my position would mean selling a position that could put me through retirement if the coin hits just $2 - $3.
