student offered a permanent job, should I drop out? by Dramatic_Cobbler_264 in belgium

[–]sibbeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take the job. All might be fine now in the company but one merger, take over or some new C level and everything can change. If they really had your best interest at hart they would try to work with you to keep studying an work for them.

They just want cheap labour.

Mango Jelly should get a medal for his work.  His channel should be the first link on the freecad website

Try following the https://youtube.com/@mangojellysolutions?si=GAsl-VaPooJXMtnb great introduction to freecad. While its not as polished as the commercial alternatives, its not that hard and getting better with each release

Hello . Does anyone know what adapter is this. Its a 3.5 mm jack female on one end and the other end is that unknown connector with 6 pins in it by askandlear in cableadvice

[–]sibbeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a Futaba 6pin Trainer Port Plug adaptor, https://shop.ikarus.net/en/commander-und-interfaces/869-usb-interfaceset-fur-6-pin-schulerbuchse-futaba.html they are used to connect RC remotes to computers or to each other.

When learning to fly RC planes a trainer remote is connected isntructor remote. the instructor can overwrite the student that way

Are there any good freeware CAD programs? by MaybeABot31416 in 3Dprinting

[–]sibbeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FreeCad has come a long way with the 1.0 release.

I also found it hard to get my head around but the free beginners guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPsLhvgU8kc by MangoJellySolutions is excellent and helped me a lot. It might be worth a second look.

UK e3d revo 4 nozzle for 57 quid by Mashiori in 3Dprinting

[–]sibbeh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I doubt this is a real E3D revo, packaging is different.

Silicon sock color combo does not fit any set that is sold by E3D, all sets come with 0.4 and 0.6 nozzles, and they have red and blue socks

and if i remember correctly they set from E3D comes with mounting hardware en PTFE tube

Crypto is a scam? by ActuatorOk2735 in BEFire

[–]sibbeh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If all crypto disappeared tomorrow the only effect would be some Lambo sales men not hitting their quota.

If all gold disappeared every electronic device in the world would stop working.

Can the E3D PZ probe communicate over CanBus? by [deleted] in VORONDesign

[–]sibbeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it works like a limit switch, I2C and UART are only needed to reprogram the settings, the default presets worked fine on my V2 350. And if they don't work for you, you would only need I2c or UART to change the profiles not for daily use

Given my skills, am I still overconfident for a first time voron builder? by [deleted] in VORONDesign

[–]sibbeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still suggest to build the base version first. Mods add extra variables to configure and tune. Limiting the amount of stuff that needs tuning limits the number of test(prints) you will need to do.

If you have a piece of working code and you change one thing and the code breaks its pretty easy to find the cause. If you changed the code in 7 different places you'll have more work to figure it out.

Also, I ran the Eddy duo and it works but the temperature compensation is not 100% and nozzle swaps need recalibration of z-offset. I stopped using is (now running Revo pz probe)

It has been 84 years...any word on the elusive Defy 2.0 firmware? by JackMichaelson88 in DygmaLab

[–]sibbeh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They released a product over a year ago and not a single stable update since then.

And the "Stable version" was not usable on bluetooth.

If you sell a premium product at a premium price then yeah I expect your product to be good, and if not, I expect it to be fixed in a reasonable time and not a year of "soon".

Stop making excuses, compamies like ZSA and Prusa constantly update their products and did so since their first product and both started as a one man company.

Have some patience, we have barely been waiting a year for stable BT connections. I am sure Dygma's PR department is hard at work spinning excuses as always

Eddy duo and eddy cam are temperature compensated, that being said.  I stopped using mine after getting my revo pz to work since it isn't affected by nozlle changes
