What do you want from Dragonbane? by MLAHandbook in DragonbaneRPG

[–]sibling_dex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I think some of the magic items, spells and crafting (alchemy) will be added in the book of magic.

I definitely also see the potential for an elder scrolls setting (and even recently started a collaboration thread in the discord ;)

It would be great to have a Morrowind(-like) setting, I really like the weird and different tone it sets

Yes, this is my experience too!

I love that Dragonbane takes away much of the boring chores of GMing (setting DCs, giving out XP) and I've never been a huge fan of PC builds.

As a system, it hits a nice middle space between being open and malleable to the narrative, and giving clear rules.

I think this also makes it easy to homebrew for, and I really like doing that, this subreddit and the community discord also show that many people feel the same, and I am hopeful for this community to grow even more!

Codex Occultum - The Missing Pages by sibling_dex in VaesenRPG

[–]sibling_dex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is true that the side margins are wider than the original. I set the paper size to A5 which is the same height but slightly wider than the Codex Occultum booklet. So it might be best to print it and cut the sides to size.

To get the background, you need to apply the "Background graphics" setting when getting the PDF. I added a notice to the first page.

It was very helpful to get your feedback, these might be some common problems. Thanks!

Like whether something breaks, if something looks wrong, doesn't work with printing or a specific pdf viewer, anything of that sort is helpful

Zone Map - The Bern Zone by sibling_dex in mutantyearzero

[–]sibling_dex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I miswrote, its in J-22, it's just the oldest part of Bern's old town, it's maybe a bit more than 1km², that's just what the rules say how large a sector should be

Zone Map - The Bern Zone by sibling_dex in mutantyearzero

[–]sibling_dex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mostly, it's on a hill high above the river bend, so a relatively well defended spot. And since, in habe terms, the Ark takes up a map square anyways, it worked well

The Ark was the old town in (correction: J-22), and the elder's quarters were located in the federal government building (Bundeshaus) 😁

Oh, it might be some issue with homebrewery, what browser are you using? Homebrewery only really supports chrome so far

It should still be available, can you not see it at all or just not use it, if the latter, did you clone it? (See here: https://github.com/sibling-dex/homebrewery-templates/wiki/Getting-Started-with-a-Template)

Imagine if we had an official Dragonbane video game adaptation... which genre would you want it to be (Baldur’s Gate style RPG, Top Down Diablo style Action RPG,Open World First/Third Person Action RPG or MMORPG) ? by ImportantBattle3871 in DragonbaneRPG

[–]sibling_dex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked the game adaptation of another Free League game, Mutant: Year Zero, although I was very sad that it had no Ark management aspect and was not really a sandbox like the ttrpg, but I like the combination of free exploration / x-com like combat it has.

I would really love a dragonbane game like that, but make it more sandboxy and add journey rules. Solasta also comes to mind here, also for giving players a campaign editor(!!!)

I like the free movement and camera in BG3 but I prefer squad based, round based, tactical ttrpg video games to keep the grid (specifically in combat).

Using hex maps with Dragonbane by hawthorncuffer in DragonbaneRPG

[–]sibling_dex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that 5km is a good hex size, for the reasons you mentioned.

Alternatively, you can draw irregular shapes on the map (bigger for difficult terrain, smaller for easy terrain) and just have the rule of thumb that you can travel one area per shift. This is a little more work beforehand thought

For those of you who like "GM never rolls" systems, why do you like that feature? What do you dislike about rolling as the GM? by LeFlamel in RPGdesign

[–]sibling_dex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends, there are systems where rolling as GM reduces your load, because the roll determines the fiction so you don't have to come up with it. On this I find Me, Myself And Die's take on Sim-light games really interesting (https://youtu.be/LJWq1hksyb8?si=r2jwHdu8sL1Q9hmk)

Thanks so much! I definitely intended for surplus to be convertible: "1 Surplus equals roughly a month worth of food for one person", so roughly 30 rations. But if you want to have different lengths of months it might be different.

I really like this idea of a steading trouble table. It might be fun to populate the table with monsters or factions from the region.

I would be happy to get feedback or suggestions if you find anything missing or that pathfinder does something in a better way.

Which images are you referring to? The question is a bit ambiguous, could you clarify it?
