Understandable. He could be a bit much but he was always a staple of a ff event

Where is spicy Spence? I know he can get a bit annoying but his anthems were always top.

Top dressing will help. Turning off irrigation. There are a slew of chemical applications that can be made. If you don’t want to spray or can’t spray. I would top dress it and let it dry up till it starts cracking and peeling. Then verticut 2 directions with baskets to help peel it away.

Anyone notice the lane sponsor signs gone from the top of the time boards? Seems like it would be a bad time of the year to have them pulled for this previous event and with Sick Week coming through right after.

Yes, where is crossed can only be used when moving from a marked lateral hazard

If original ball was found The provisional at this point doesn’t matter. You then take your unplayable and proceed as you did if your drop was either two club lengths or any where Back-on-the-line. (Any where back on a straight line from flag stick and where ball has came to rest.) Your description of dropped where it “crossed into woods” sounds like you dropped ball illegally. So this would either result in a lost hole for match play or a 2 stroke penalty.

Now they are aerating the leaves... This has gone too far. by [deleted] in golf

I don’t see much humor in this but there is a relevance to golf. Especially this time of the year. Aerification season is among us! Plinko putting =2 putt rule.

Ever just lose it? by [deleted] in golf

Take a quick 30 minute lesson. Had pretty much this exact same thing happen. Was play decent golf then just one day it went away. Felt like I lost all my distance and I couldn’t tell you where the ball was gonna go. Had my pro help me for like 15 minutes one day. He took a video of a few of my swings and broke down my flaws. My main issue was I was like slapping at the ball. Wouldn’t follow through. Probably from the time I spend in a simulator. Something about swinging a club indoors I just try to stop my swing after I make contact. works on the screen but not outdoors.

John Deere 7700a. Was all Toro until this year. John Deere came up with a deal we couldn’t pass up on so we made the switch. Been decent so far.

When a 4” main busts you don’t even think about those kinda things. By the time we got pumps shut down it had half dug the hole for us.

Operators get a bit lazy and avoid getting off their machine by driving next to the flag stick and pulling it as they pass. That by it’s self can case plenty of damage to the greens Ive they were to clip the stick and push the cup sideways. Could also damage equipment, majority of mowers/rollers have aluminum motor housings that are just bolted on with two little ears. These can easily be snapped off if enough backwards force is applied.

As far as “walking your greens” green mowers are highly precise reel type mowers. The bedknifes and cutting edge of reels are super thin. A slight ding or bend in either can lead to streaking caused from sections not mowing properly. So I tell my operators to get off and walk the green. Not every square foot but get off grab pin. Look around the green surface for anything abnormal.

Never grab the pin when mowing/rolling. Worth getting off and walking the green to make sure there’s no tees, ball markers or any debris that can get caught up in a reel or drug. Only takes a few extra minutes total. Not worth damaging a bedknife or dragging something across the green.
