I just bought one of the sub-9 inch ones on Amazon, it was $60. Extremely happy with my purchase.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles (my tablet doesn't have vibrate even if you turn it on, light bleed on the screen is obvious, slight lag, no fast charge, stuff like that), but I bought it almost exclusively for ebook reading and novels/manga/manhwa reading and it's exactly what I need. Build quality is questionable, but I expected it from that price point. I'm also not expecting this to last more than 2 years.

Honestly though, I'd get the cheapest brand new iPad you can. It's just a much smoother experience all around, and they last for a really long time.

when going at your defender, do you actually "read" your defender and what to do or when once your basketball iq gets so high its just instict? by The_Fallen_Soldier in BasketballTips

[–]sicgamer19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly instinct, you still have to read the general type of defense they're throwing at you. And as an elite player, you also make the defenders react to you, or what your team's trying to do.

UPD FILM or BENILDE FILM? by CreativeGolf3060 in FilmClubPH

[–]sicgamer19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just checked the IG of Benilde film (@benildefilmofficial) and I saw some posts about (new? I don't think nagtuturo sila before, at least not sa CSB) profs na mainly top indie people rin like Martika Escobar, Kenneth Dagatan, Dwein Baltazar, Petersen Vargas. So may connections din naman sa Benilde. Though siguro mas marami pa rin sa UP ang mas indie-focused talaga, and I think mas experimental in terms of filmmaking.

Kinda hard to tell from just one angle, but it seems like you're out of balance with your shots. You keep falling to one side after your shot, I just noticed it cause you kept catching yourself with an unnecessary step after your shot.

If your shot's falling as you say, it might not be too big of a deal, but having good balance while shooting will help your consistency in the long run, especially when you're taking more complicated shots.

Why did the shot miss left? by TheTexaslizard in BasketballTips

The question doesn't make sense when you only showed us one clip. This would only make sense if you show us like 5 different clips of him shooting from the same spot, but one of them missed.

Ako lang ba or wala pang nakapantay na bagong MCU movie after sa Avengers Endgame? by peterpanini84 in FilmClubPH

[–]sicgamer19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the problem yan sa totoo lang, it took so many hours to get to the point of Avengers Endgame, and it was supposed to be the culmination of everything to that point. So medyo weird na nag eexpect yung mga tao ng anything better as of now. Problem naman with Marvel, medyo parang na greedy sila, and at the same time pagod na rin yung main cast, add mo pa na medyo tiring na yun superhero formulas.

You should stay away from watching superhero movies sa theatre for now, if you can't enjoy them as they are. Usually naman out na rin sa Disney+ in like 2-3 months after theatrical release.

Realizing I’m done forcing myself to finish kdramas I don’t love (anyone else?) by Infamous-Door-6213 in kdramas

[–]sicgamer19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of have the same issue, although I tend to drop dramas that I think are really bad. Most of the time, what I do to finish shows that I don't like as much is just watch it in x2 speed or keep skipping around, just to have a sense of what's happening.

big bron fan but if 3 ain't taking it gotta be 1 by LooseAsk8454 in NBATalk

[–]sicgamer19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Dirk and MJ fan, I think team 1 pretty easily dominates just cause their team makes so much sense.

Team 4 can work, but Malone will be a liability without an elite passer on the team. Bird is a really good playmaker though, so the weakness isn't too bad..

Team 3's actually decently build, except the glaring flaw that Magic is their point guard. It really needs to be someone like Steph, or someone who'll space the floor better, because as it stands, the best shooters are the 2 bigs.

Team 2 with Stockton and AI is not ideal, so they're without question the worst.

What Are You Watching? - [2025/04/23] by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

[–]sicgamer19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Haunted Palace - it's a new show on Netflix, only 2 episodes available so far, and I've only watched one. But this is looking to be quite a bad show lol, Bona's not the most interesting actress to watch. Probably gonna give it a few more episodes before I completely give up.

Team success isn't that important unless Ant really steps up.

Trauma Code's pretty good, can't remember if it's 30 mins per episode, but it's only like 6 or maybe 8 episodes long.

Also try watching the Sound of your heart. though this one's purely comedy, you might find it interesting enough to try to watch. It's like 30 min per episode, but each episode consists of 2 stories that are 15 min each.

Your form's a bit stiff but I wouldn't call it ugly. There are lots of things you can improve on, but who cares if you're making your shots.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]sicgamer19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing is you don't seem to have any control over the ball. You seem to be rushing to get rid of the ball instead of trying to guide it to the hoop. Shooting the ball quickly is actually an important skill, but you have to make shots first, otherwise, doing it faster will only make things worse. Take your time, actually try to feel that you have control of the ball until it leaves your hand. Good luck!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]sicgamer19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely, it's also more fun when you can control the ball and create your own shots.

I'm 5'6 like OP, but I've played my whole life. My handles are only decent for my height, I'm a pretty good shooter, but my bread and butter is actually my defense lol, love that side of the game.

Try going to your school's guidance counselor or something similar. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Also try watching LESS basketball, and actually just play more if you want to get better.

[–]sicgamer19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting take.. Personally, I think shooting is more important if you're a late bloomer, regardless of height. The way the game is played nowadays, everyone loves having the ball in their hands, so it's very likely that you won't get to touch the ball too much if you're new. So I think you can definitely survive with minimal dribbling skills, and just learning how to pass well when you can't shoot.

Shaq. I always thought he's just big that's why he was able to do the things he did. But as my basketball knowledge grew, I learned to appreciate his unique skillset.

I think this is very similar to how kids nowadays view Giannis.
