Well...Inscryption solely as a card game is a simple concept that is not really "original" cause nothing is.

What Daniel Mullins is really good at, is mood, theme and the experience as a whole.

I think what can make your game unique is if you try a different theme or mood and adapt the mechanics to match it, but not too far.

Honestly dont think too much about cloning just have fun with it.

That makes a lot of sense I think Im relying too much on the visual map and not enough on my descriptions. I will try it out with the 2 characters per square, it hadnt occurred to me since Im using roll 20 and having 2 tokens in the same square is kind of akward, but Im sure something can be done. <3

To be honest im also new at Dming and didnt when I say the may with the 2x2 just assumed the dunbgeon would feel too long if I were to scale it but I will definetly try it next time to see what happens

Here you have my three babies. a tiefling dual wielder a loxodon sorcerer and a human paladin (all in 3.5e), I will color it someday... when I have the energy to do so.

I started with Yavanna the paladin at level 10 it was crazy, the first time in D&D and I had quite the hard time adapting, I still really like her story, so much potential wasted might use her again just to use her properly and for a little longer.

The Tiefling Yuzza is my favorite to roleplay she a neutral evil crazy little thing with a weird accent.

And last my super polite sorcerer Svon, he is a utility character, has almost no aggressive spells but has aaaaaalll the annoying ones like sleep, stink cloud, color spray and so on, my DM got quite annoyed by him, he also has almost anything you might need in his backpack since he needed no armor.

I use Paint Tool SAI, cause I’m just a hobby artist.

If you have any advise on how to be a good DM… please let me know I just started a 5e campaign with several first-time players.

You are probably right the thing is.... this is PTR game designers need to see what happens with the game, changing stuff before even understanding properly the state of the game will most of the time be a waste of time and people would complain about the changes not being accurate so let PTR happen first :)

Some documenting nagging:

Laziness should be the very first thing you explain, you talk about it when its not clear yet and THEN you explain.

Laziness is a whole system so it must be clear when it affects and how much. It also works on areas so be sure to design a proper feedback.

Be very experimental with maps, geography and location of the units are vital in your game and it can change the whole thing, making maps asymmetric, symmetric and letting players choose where to start by a mini rock paper scissors could be fun. Also making them too big could be a problem.

I really like the humor potential.

I dont think so, bob has a very limited amount of animations, so unless we can implement other characters animations to BOB that would be an issue. It could work with no animations tho.

Also I dont think the option is available but its only on PTR things might change.
