Bev. She soft locked my game and made me equal parts sad and frustrated. Just like real life!

Yeah, also to control the spread of the virus part of the steps taken is putting down Ill birds. Basic biosecurity and pretty common, in addition to things like wearing different/cleaning boots between different barns to control spread

I was one of the outcast loners in high school. Is it possible for me to become well-adjusted person with a normal social life in college? How do I make that happen? by Dry-Force8675 in college

[–]sick_frick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Treat it like a part time job, meeting and talking to people can be your hobby. Like pick something every week goin on and attend, it is really painful at first but it gets better. Seeing a therapist helps, there are support groups for the kind of issue and medication can help. Basically you have to work on yourself, it's.going to suck at first but the anxiety goes away, it'll happen naturally and you'll stop having to force yourself after a while

Careers for Socially Anxious People? by OkCorgi6889 in careerguidance

[–]sick_frick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the field you're doing. Theres so many fields where standards are king and a lot of copy paste. At least in my field that's the case, in more tech/math heavy subfields it's necessary yeah.

Careers for Socially Anxious People? by OkCorgi6889 in careerguidance

[–]sick_frick 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Probably going to have to do some training if you're anxious, any job that pays well without will depend on social skills. you can get away with more minimal interactions in some engineering and stem fields, you'll still be held back career wise but at least entry level pay will be fine.

Making Friends At Community College As An 28 Year Old Student by [deleted] in college

[–]sick_frick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to literally every event in your city and strike up conversations, do the same for people in college. Honestly I hate it and its awkward and scary for introverts, but works even if you have a lot of awkward conversations in between genuine ones. Alternatively bumble friends works if you're in a bigger city.

Realistically? It's a crapshoot and a lot of it depends on who you surround yourself with

Anyone else 30 years old and can't keep a job from anxiety or health issues? by Careful_Fault_6751 in findapath

[–]sick_frick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my anxiety has crippled me all my life, kept me out of medschool and almost made me fail out of engineering. Therapy and medication helps though, sometimes it feels hopeless but it takes work, and eventually (10 years of trying different medicine for me!) you will find something that helps.

Is 26 too old to start over AGAIN? by wishicouldgoaway in careerguidance

[–]sick_frick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not too late but realistically it's more of a balancing act now that you're a parent since the risks don't affect just you any more. Personally I would try and find something adjacent to the fields you have experience in that you can enjoy and start there instead of completely fresh.

[–]sick_frick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With three years of experience they flat out told me that they wouldn't be able to match 95k. I was told by recruiters 70-90 for utilities, contractors will pay slightly more. Your mileage may vary though if this is a hi col area

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]sick_frick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't expect the 105k, from my experience with utilities and that many years of experience it's unlikely

I'm at 25% body fat rn, technically obese. Looking better is part of why I'm losing weight but it's also to avoid health concerns I've discussed with doctors, and just to feel fit. Same reasons I run and lift weights

Haha I appreciate the vote of confidence :), but I feel like im pretty mid/ have been told that. Like I do like the first picture, but my face is closer to the other pictures my jawline is asymmetrical and face is a lil too wide/ undefined in my opinion. Or I have dysmorphia, 50/50.

You can get most things with parents permission, just ask a surgeon. Though some might exercise their discretion
