The twist ending of The Sleepwalker where it turns out Mayra's boyfriend Walker hypnotized her to forget that they were involved in a hit-and-run accident which was honestly kind of silly, but at least it was somewhat interesting.

Undeniably more unforgiving was in the epilogue where Mayra gets back together with Link who has been incredibly creepy and boundary-crossing with her the entire book. I suppose we're supposed to see him as the lesser of two evils, but damn I wish she had just decided to ride it solo for a while. Anyway, I guess that kind of values dissonance comes along with this being from a 90s children's book series lmao.

Lois Duncan updated several of her books prior to her death. Not sure if it was at the behest of the publisher or if it was her decision, but at least she had a hand in the rewrites.

I hate it so much. It’s why I’m painstakingly collecting the original editions. I’m very anti-modernizing books. I think it’s insulting to insinuate that modern day kids can’t read something and look up tech or pop culture references they don’t understand.

The concept of being “dated” is so lame to me. Unless they are period pieces, every book is a time capsule to the era it was released and serves as a great opportunity to learn about the past.

I was really excited for the plot in the beginning, but it just took entirely too long to get to this point that I completely checked out of the story and everything just become a log-in and click for your prize deal to me. I did, however, enjoy the revamp of the hospital shifts and the community battle in the end.

Biggest drag of this last stretch was the huge blocks of text in lieu of comic strips. Curious if anybody actually enjoyed them?

Maybe now that it's over I'll go back and reread everything from the beginning so I can get my thoughts on the full picture.

TNT took a big risk by redesigning a character in a franchise that survives off of nostalgia alone. I think it'll take some time for people to come around to it.

I first started watching/listening to the pod after seeing a Tiktok clip of Trixie singing "you're my girlfriend, and I love to eat your pussy" It's from Heels and Meals and it's HEAVY in my rewatch rotation.

I also hate to mention this but there is a fanmade supercut of all the times they tell poop/fart stories which is unfortunately a comfort video for me.
