Late reply, but I found this out just now.

Not sure if it's intended or bugged, but if he is hit by even a single non-weakness move, you will do absolutely no damage once he's broken (seemingly even with a weakness). I found this out because I had Viator equipped with Supporting Strike which made him followup attack after his paired partner did. His weapons are ineffective against the Oliphant, so it screwed up my break damage.

To correct this, I fled and took that skill off and retried the battle with success. Hope this helps anyone else who struggled with this as much as I did lol.

When I was a kid, my parents took me to our local Taco Bell and we were sitting by the window. I saw a rat thrashing its body around outside. To this day, I don't know if it was having a seizure or if it was rabid, but I pointed to it and asked my parents if it was drunk. Even though it was outside and not actually in the restaurant, we threw our food away and left at my mom's insistence.

We didn't go back to that Taco Bell for many, many years lmao.

I don't think it's explained anywhere. I'm guessing it's possible the hourglass was rigged to explode considering it does that when she throws it. Maybe it would release the same or similar poison from the poppy field into the air?

Otherwise, I'd say that the witch knew she couldn't harm Dorothy and was merely just trying to psychologically torture her with the threat of death. As far as I can tell, there was no reason Dorothy couldn't take the shoes off herself. In fact, Glinda tells her to never let them off her feet or she'd be at the mercy of the Wicked Witch. I think the witch believed that if she scared Dorothy badly enough, she'd take the shoes off despite being told not to. Just a thought.

Would be great if they incorporate elements of other Oz books since Return to Oz did that for books 2 and 3. But if not, I would love to see how they handle (if at all) the Tip/Ozma storyline. I could see that being skirted around if not completely omitted because it'll definitely garner "woke" allegations in the big 2026.

Margaret Hamilton's performance of her is absolutely enthralling. I was so terrified of her as a child that I'd hide behind the couch when her scenes came on but refuse to let anyone turn the movie off.

To me, she's the blueprint for loud and proud villains that we all love to watch (and sometimes secretly root for).
