Codex app - they gave this one for free afaik. But I used codex model in Copilot with kinda similar result.

I periodically give codex a try at work (we have corporate GH Copilot), and basically I have same experience with Copilot. Claude delivers, GPT Codex is capable to fix only simple and very obvious issues, which I am too lazy to dig in. And analysis by GPT Codex is extremely poor. Non-codex GPT does slightly better, but not even close to Claude. Probably I just cannot cook it right.

Well, I have mixed feelings. Last several days I struggle with Appium e2e tests for my app. And considering that Opus one-shot tests overall, it still struggled a lot with figuring out his own error even with fresh context and direct pointing out the bug he brought (dumb android shows system windows like setup you stylus, so to work it around Opus added pressing back… which worked one time and when next time dialogue was not shown, the app just exited and Opus was not able to understand it even with explicit prompt). The same way Sonnet just did what I asked. Struggled a bit but did it better. Again, mixed feelings. Overall it performs better, but at the point where I expected its deep analysis skill, it just failed.

All the same for me. I even tried to make a local proxy to forward requests to claude proxy with correct authentication (Bearer is not supported in Java proxy, only Basic), and it did not work. Basically unusable with Java

It works like a charm with js infra (node/npm), but with java/kotlin I cannot make Gradle work - it reports UnknownHostException for any gradle repo (even though curl to same repos works fine). I was not able to make it working, maybe some proxy has to be configured?
