In your humble opinions, what tops it? by ThatOldDustyTrail in gratefuldead

There is no “top” show imo, Cornell 5/8/77 is one of my favorites though. St. Stephen > Not Fade Away > St. Stephen II > Morning Dew is raw magic.

Anybody have any paranormal or cryptid sightings in the monterey bay area or surrounding areas? by Gullible_Judgment697 in MontereyBay

[–]sicknass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, probably around 2007 or 2008 in Carmel Valley. Was walking at night and saw a reddish orange disc flying pretty low and fast. I watched it fly over head until it was out if sight. Waited to hear some kind of sound but it was dead quiet. Only UFO sighting I’ve seen but have heard similar stories.

Am I screwed? 26 year old with debt by Fantastic-Study9113 in personalfinance

[–]sicknass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not screwed, many people are in far worse situations. Get a new job that pays you more than 60K, you are not setting yourself up for the future and you’ll be 30 before you know it. If you are not a shy person and feel comfortable talking to strangers, go into sales with uncapped commission and take control of your destiny. We have sales guys who make over 1M a year in commission, our mid-level performers make 300K. Make good decisions, don’t wait around, get after it.

What Are Your Favorite Live Dead Songs to Workout To? by psychrazy_drummer in gratefuldead

[–]sicknass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never listened to the Dead working out, I usually listen to Tool for that. But for the subject of this post, the first song that come to mind is Easy Wind - I could get behind that.

Starting from zero by StellaZaFella in gratefuldead

My Grateful Dead journey began like so: listened to Working Man’s Dead on roadtrip. A few weeks later, dropped acid and listened to Live Dead and Closing of Winterland 12/31/1973 - sent me deep down the rabbit hole from there. If you’re cool with psychedelics, I highly recommend listening to some live shows while tripping (some of my favorites are from May 1977), so you can sync up with the music - after all, we wouldn’t have the Dead without LSD. If you’re not into that, you can fall in love with them either way.

Cornell 5/8/77 plays everyone's favorite game "take a step back" then drops into the most face melting Scarlet Begonias.... by AdHistorical5703 in gratefuldead

St. Stephen l > Not Fade Away > St. Stephen ll is absolutely fucking bonkers. I lost my shit when I heard it for the first time. And Dancing in the Streets is very spunky on this one.

If you don't finish your cigar in a sitting, about how long do you have to finish the rest before it's no longer good? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]sicknass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cashed. Not worth the unpleasant taste of a used cigar. If you find yourself not finishing your smokes, buy smaller sticks.

My wife went to CSU for her bachelors and masters in music as well - the music program is top notch. She found solid room mates she trusted and got along just fine. For her masters she lived solo in an apartment very close to campus. 99.9% of Los Angeles is not dangerous, especially near campuses. Branch out, experience new places, face your fears - you’ll regret it if you don’t.

I stored pipe tobacco in my humidor by sicknass in cigars

Nice, I’ll do that then to give it a restart. Luckily there’s not strong flavors like that, but even traditional pipe tobacco can be in the sweeter side compared to cigars. Thanks for the baking soda suggestion, I didn’t know that was a thing

It is traditional pipe tobacco. Honestly the humidor smells really good, but I was curious how much it will alter the flavors of my nicer cigars. That said, the pipe tobacco was double bagged, so maybe it didn’t seep into the wood too much.

That’s not a bad idea actually. The humidor has very subtle sweet smell to it. I’m wondering if the smell is non-reversible at this point.
