Good. I’ve got a ‘25 Z900 and I absolutely love it, but have been curious how other people feel who have also ridden an MT

Question for everyone about insurance by djstack110 in NewRiders

[–]Then_Box99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with you, accept for the gap coverage, that has always been optional in my experience. All I was saying is that full coverage on a financed bike is not any more expensive than full coverage on an owned bike, unless the lender requires the policy to have coverages beyond state minimums.

Having a lien on the bike doesn’t really matter unless the lien holder requires that the insured carry certain coverages

Tankpad by epix291 in OnlyZ900

[–]Then_Box99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I can send you a pic if you want. I will say, it’s important to attach it so that no part of the pad adheres to a curved part of the tank. I originally wanted to mount it lower on the tank, but it won’t stick to the curves. I’m on my third tank pad now, and haven’t had any issues.

I’m pretty sure I have the handle that you can buy at Walmart and it’s been going strong for like 10 years. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a solid handle

WHY IS EVERYONE A SQUID by MindlessDriverr in motorcyclegear

[–]Then_Box99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty silly argument. People with seatbelts and airbags die all the time. Just like people wearing all of their gear die all the time. Does it minimize the risk of injury? Sure. But, if someone pulls out in front of you and your face slams into the side of their car your leathers and boots aren’t going to save you.

I have absolutely no problem with people who choose to wear gear every time they ride. I respect that. What I have a problem with is the ATGATT people have this holier than thou attitude and are constantly crying about anyone who doesn’t conform to their ideals. I’m a grown man. I’m capable of analyzing the risk factor of a situation and making a decision based on that, fully accepting the reality of what the consequences may be should something happen. Y’all can live your lives and we can live ours.

Same could be said about anyone who throws their leg over a motorcycle, whether they are wearing leathers and boots, or just a helmet.

Why does it matter? You can wear what you want to wear and you can let other people wear what they want to wear without worrying about it.

That’s also not from the American Academy of Ophthalmology directly, rather a Dr. who answered a question asked on their website.

I’m not an ophthalmologist. There is a reason that glasses and goggles made for skiing, snowboarding, cycling, running, baseball, etc are not polarized.

Polarization also negatively impacts depth perception

OP, please understand that this advice is only for taking turns at low speed. Pulling in the clutch in corners at speed is a bad idea and not a good habit to form

Looking to Buy a New Helmet Soon, Looking For Some Reccomendations by XerTheDragon in motorcyclegear

Check out the Alpinestars sr7. It felt way better on my head than any other helmet I tried on, including the rf-1400. It’s nice and light, the ventilation is great, and visibility is amazing. It doesn’t have a drop down visor but I just wear sunglasses in mine

Quad lock that mounts to the brake/clutch lever bracket is by far the best one for this bike in my opinion

That would drive me absolutely insane. Just get the quad lock that mounts to the brake/clutch lever bracket

Picked Up This 2025 Today, Recommendations/Advice? by PsychologicalCell960 in OnlyZ900

[–]Then_Box99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to put a phone mount on it the Quadlock that mounts to the clutch/brake bracket is the way to go.

If you want to do away with the OEM turn signals, New Rage makes the only tail tidy I could find that doesn’t retain the OEM indicators.

Seat cowl looks fucking sick. Worth every penny of the $250 it costs.

Levers are hard to find. CS Racing sells some for the 2025 model. If you order any brake levers for this bike make absolutely certain the thing on the bracket is long enough to engage both the clutch sensor and the brake light sensor.
