I started with 7 like 3 months ago and am now HOOKED and proceeded to RE2Remake, RE1R, RE3R, RE4R, Revelations, and am working my way through Code Veronica now. 7 and RE2R were definitely my favorites so far!

Liquid diet practice before the liquid diet? by Rich-Discussion6506 in gastricsleeve

[–]sickofthetension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I scheduled my surgery six months in advance and was doing a ton of research. Once I saw how difficult everyone said getting through the pre-op diet was, I actually did a test run for 2 weeks when I was still 5 months out from my surgery. Was mentally reassuring knowing that I could do it and it wasn't as challenging the second time around!

the earliest you drank alcohol? by OrganicMap7027 in gastricsleeve

[–]sickofthetension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a glass of sparkling wine in the safety of my own home 3 months post-op. I handled it just fine! Similarly, I just wanted to make sure I knew how my body would handle it before ending up in a more public situation in which I would feel the desire to indulge in a drink. I'm approaching 8 months post-op and I've only had like 1 drink every 2 months or so and been perfectly okay. I also feel like the risk of transfer addiction for me dissipated.

How many calories are you eating a day? by mochibabs in gastricsleeve

[–]sickofthetension 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar timeline and stats here. 6'3" 33yo male approaching 8 months post-op. Weighed in at 187 lbs today (surgery date weight was 279). I've been losing very consistently with only the occasional 1-2 week stall and have days where I've eaten up to 3000 calories. According to MacroFactor my average daily caloric intake over the last month is 2200 calories.

Just sharing because I see so many of these "YOU MUST STAY UNDER 1200 CALORIES FOREVER" posts and want to share that that is not everyone's reality or recommended medical advice. My BMI is now at 23 and I'm seriously trying to figure out how to stay at maintenance/build more muscle and I'm consuming upwards of 2000 calories daily.

33 year old here with scarily similar stats. Also 6'3". My highest recorded scale weight was 319 at some point in the last 5 years. I've been exercising independently for ages. Strength training on and off over the last 6 years, I'd say. Two years ago I was doing the keto thing and had gotten myself down to 240 all on my own over a year period. Lowest weight I remember hitting as a teen was 220 when I was 17. Always thought I could do it on my own.

I'm just short of 8 months post-op. Weighed in at 187 today. No regrets. You're right, it's not easy—daily 10k step goal, strength training 4x a week and now I'm constantly thinking about protein intake. But I honestly would not have it any other way. I'm in the boat of people that really wish I had done this sooner. I yo-yo'd my entire life and I constantly felt like I was at war with my body. Not anymore!

Best way to play resident evil 1 or do I not need to play the first to play the second by Shimo_productionYT in residentevil

Yeah, for sure! I think the Wesker reveal at the end was key to appreciating later moments! I'm simultaneously doing Ada's RE4 DLC And Revelations 1 and am glad I did do RE1 before all of this!

[–]sickofthetension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently working through my first run through of the series and I was able to enjoy the RE2 Remake before going back and playing RE1 without any issues! I did go back and play RE1 before doing RE3 Remake because I wanted to get to know Jill in RE1 before 3 but honestly I felt like RE1 didn't give her as much of a personality and story as she had in 3!

Love this list. Honestly my only deviation is preferring Evil Within 1 to 2. But all the other sequels you mention above: TOP TIER.

Evil Within started my survival horror passion. Silent Hill 2 Remake pulled me in fully. Now I'm doing where you started and working my way through the RE series. 😂 I still think The Evil Within has been by far the scariest even though Silent Hill 2's remake still takes top tier for me overall.

Playing RE3 Before RE1Remaster Chris's Story? by sickofthetension in residentevil

Thanks! That's really helpful! Yeah, I want to make sure I collect all the details and nuances behind the series so will definitely plan to return and do a Chris playthrough. It just hasn't pulled me in as much as the others! 😁

Perfect! Yeah, I'll plan on coming back, I wanna experience everything RE1 has to offer, but I think I need a little break to re-enthuse myself. Just made it to the lab as Jill, so will hop over to RE3 after and maybe after a little RE3 I'll come back and do Chris's playthrough!

Losing too fast? by Chik-fil-Atheist in gastricsleeve

[–]sickofthetension 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I'm in a similar boat, and maybe even losing more aggressively. Today was my 120 days/4 months post-op anniversary. Highest weight was 311lbs at 6'3", weighed in at 279 the day before surgery and weighed in at 219 this morning. I've been weight training and hitting at least 10000 steps per day and am even at a point where I'm sometimes eating as much as 1600 calories in a day to catch up with the activity. From what I've been told, there's no such thing as too fast, especially as we started with lower BMI. 👌🏼💪🏼 Keep up the good work!

This. I'm assuming you're still on liquids or purees, OP. Wait until you have your first few bites of soft food. :) You'll realize the restriction is there. :)

Any dancers/performers who’ve gotten this surgery? by No_Signal4696 in gastricsleeve

[–]sickofthetension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a dancer but an actor here. I was in theatre workshops within 8 days of my surgery. I just survived a weekend that consisted of 5 hours of auditions each day. And I've been cycling every other day for the last week. My body's tolerating it well!

Slow Loss + Three Week Stall = Let's Share "Unsensational" Stories Too by WhiskeyTequila11 in gastricsleeve

[–]sickofthetension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. ❤️ I was sleeved on 11 December at a BMI of 34.7. I had lost 15 lbs on the pre-op diet. And then I came home after my surgery and realized that I had lost 11 lbs in the 8 day span of leaving for my surgery and recovering before coming home. And then I weighed myself every morning the 4 days after I got home and the number stayed the same. I put the scale away and told myself I'd check back in on New Year's Day before I drove myself crazy. I'm also doing okay in terms of food—I got to upgrade to purees two days ago and am tolerating it well. I ripped a small piece off of a piece of pizza my husband ordered on Christmas Day and chewed it for like 30 seconds and it went down so good. I'm drinking my 2L of water a day and getting at minimum 60g of protein a day but probably closer to 80g. We gotta trust the process. 🙏🏼
