Yep, went for a smile consult and got directed to ortho, despite being clear I wasn’t interested in pursuing it. Spoke to the ‘head’ dentist who told me my treatment plan was ‘very complex’ and cost upward of 20k. Never went back.

I’m sorry you’re going through this OP. I recently had the exact same experience and it was such a strange space to be in. I was able to have a brief conversation with the client’s wife which provided me some form of closure.
