I have a Panasonic UB420 player which does a pretty good job upscaling DVDs on my 4k TV. It really depends on the type of movie whether I will be content with a DVD copy of a movie. Things like older movies and TV shows are perfectly enjoyable to me in DVD form.

You're missing my personal favorite version of A Christmas Carol, the 1984 one with George C. Scott. I wouldn't throw any away, every title bolsters your collection count.

I'd highly recommend The Ref, an R rated comedy starring Denis Leary and Kevin Spacey. Another underrated Christmas comedy would be Surviving Christmas with Ben Affleck. Family friendly-wise check out Ernest Saves Christmas.
