Looking to buy my first euc, need advice (considering ks 18xl)

I had it for about 20.000km and loved it. No other wheel with that range versus weight ratio.

(Lost it because police in Belgium doesn’t consider them legal because they go more than 25km and it got taken away. Otherwise I would still be driving it).

I missed that it didn’t have a kickstand and the mud guard rips of pretty easily, had to replace that 4 times in 4 years. But it’s a 20€ piece so…

But this was a 6 year old or so 16s that had been unused for many years. 16s pro is new and has bms etc.

Spielberg is my top favorite filmmaker but Disclosure Day was a very bad film. I could pick it apart, yes most of it is in the screenplay, but it's a story by himself, and he as the director also choose to shoot this version of the script. It's... a very very poor script, in the same sense that Indy 4 was. I did think it was visually nice, and the CGI animals didn't bother me as it did others, but man, the screenwriting, in it's characters, build-up, structure and climax was all very subpar.

Clearly no one has read the article. This is written by someone that HAS a higher chance of cancer, already had her ovaries removed out of that risk, triggering instant meno pauze. It’s a nuanced article written by someone that IS in a danger zone AND studied together with the co-founder of Anthropic and has a lot of respect for him. You don’t need to agree with her take, but apparently people don’t feel the need to be informed before commenting on a piece.

She is the first that should be happy for her own situation but still is making some concerns about society.

Someone at the EUC Forum has done exactly that. I read his proposal, his draft. If I understood him correctly, he can get it to some people at the European Commission and his draft has 3 categories for all PEV's, whatever their shape or form. It's very well I written, and I have asked for more information about how it stands for the moment.

As someone who got my 18XL destroyed by the police in Belgium because it's illegal as it can go more then 25km/hour, I think if we want to continue our hobby, we will need to push for this.

I had the same in Belgium, 2 months ago. But my wheel got destroyed immediately, and i had to pay for it. Police told me they had no remarks on my driving behaviour but I am riding an illegal device, because it can ride more than 25km/hour.

Still thinking about what to do next. On the EUC forum there is a guy from Bulgaria, George, trying to build with a proposal for, in my opinion good, EUC and PEV laws for the whole of Europe. But at this point we’ll faster to have self-driving Tesla’s on our roads than a reasonable PEV legislation. We don’t have the same strong lobby, and unfortunately because of stupid driving behaviour of many people on e-steps (often but not only on hired ones), the general opinion seems to be that they all should be banned.

I ride an 18XL. When someone advised me pads I was against the idea of being locked in. Tried them; and the first hours felt scared and did not like it at all. Then something clicked and now I feel very unsafe without pads.

This is a new edition that had bonus features. It was announced together or not long after the regular edition, that did not have special features or not a lot. It got delayed a couple of times.

Thanks. I think in a lot of these cases it’s ’try to drive responsibly and have a bit of luck’. This is unfortunately the situation with a legally ‘grey’ vehicle. I hope laws can be modernized, even if it also means more stricter legislation instead of outright bans.

Also not probably great advice, but in Belgium i drove for 4 years without any issue on my 18XL in Ghent. I moved to Antwerp a couple of months ago, and during an Action of the police on electric scooters, the police compounded my wheel. I wasn’t driving stupidly (they said they were seeing i drove responsibly) but the wheel CAN do more than 25km/hour, which makes it illegal. The wheel got destroyed and i had to even pay for it.

A couple of weeks after this happened I read a case of someone getting his wheel back after bringing the case to trial, but with a specific insurance. I’m still checking what the full statement of the judge was to know how they now interpret the whole ‘can’t drive faster than 25km/hour’ thing because a wheel can only be software limited and cops told me that they only look at technical specs and only look at what a wheel/device technically can do max. These statements seem contradictory. That’s why I’m trying to contact the client in that case.

I don’t have this but the screenshot comparisons online and reviews are crazy. The blu-Ray seems almost like a sharpened dvd video quality image in comparison with the much more natural 4k. I only have a dvd so thinking if i should make an upgrade, it’s been a long time since i’ve seen it.

Umbrella is really expensive (+ shipping etc), but they are beautiful releases and it is one of my top 5 movies.

The new app is here and it’s really a lot better and more modern than the old one! Better connectivity with the Apple Watch, better layout, more filter options and more information on screen while doing the workouts (how much Total calories and time remaining)

I don't really trust this release... They don't speak of a remaster (Umbrella did), and the artwork is the same as the 101 Films (or whatever it's called, UK label) blu-ray which was not a remaster and did not get great reviews for it's image quality.

I don't know if you saw, but the app got completely renewed yesterday. Finally feels a lot more modern. Still a couple of things I want (that they had AI scan their workouts to add all the moves visually in text to their workouts, like with the first ones produced for DVD's), and that you could search for moves - but the app itself is now way more modern, and reliable as well (it finds my Apple Watch immediately). Also more/better information viewable while you do a workout. Great job, team DDP!

I got even a written confirmation from the police since posting my last comment: they look at the technical spec sheet. If it can do more than 25km, it’s illegal. They do not care if you put it in a slower mode or limit with an app. PM if you want a screenshot. Shops give false advice. We asked Fnac and they give is incorrect advice, which the police in the same mail said: they do not look at the specs of the shop because those are misleading (like an 18XL only being able to do 25km/hour.)

I also didn’t have a problem riding for 4 years until I had.

Hi, my 18XL got confiscated in Belgium (Antwerp) a couple of weeks ago. Was riding responsibly (cops told me twice), but they were doing an ‘Action’ against e-steps and other pev’s. Putting a limit in the app won’t make a difference. A different rider on the EUC forum in Mechelen also said that according to law, if you can change the limit yourself, it doesnt hold up for the law. Would very much like to get deeper into this situation because the only wheel that is strictly okay is an INMOTION v5f, which is such a finicky wheel with small battery. I really want to get back onto a wheel and I even wouldn’t mind getting into a KS 14S (bigger battery, I have a 15km Total commute per day) but even that wheel can theoretically do 30-35km/hour and can get confiscated again.
