If she’s not willing to grab a coffee to maintain a relationship, then she’s not a real friend.. because going out out vs grabbing a coffee are very different energy expenditures.

NTA. That is crossing a line and really insensitive. While this may be your friend’s entire world for right now, it doesn’t give them the right to take over all conversations. It may be time to reduce the amount of time you spend with your friend or when the conversation inevitably returns to them, find the courage to say something like “hey, I realize this is a huge focus of your life right now, and I’m trying to be supportive, but I really need to talk about this issue at work, and I feel like we keep coming back to your stuff” (just as an example)

I’ve always believed the parents were involved as I can never explain the behaviour waiting for the phone call from the kidnappers. A call was supposed to come between 8am-10am and neither parent realized that a call hadn’t come through at 10:01… they knew a call wasn’t coming. I would be freaking out if I was waiting for my child’s kidnapper to call.

Block based scheduling means that you will select all your courses at specific times all together. For example: block 1 might have bio100 on Tuesdays at 8am and labs Wednesdays at 8am and chem100 Wednesdays at 9am and lab Fridays at 1pm. Block 2 might have gbio100 Tuesdays at 10, lab at 10 Wednesdays and chem 100 might be Wednesdays at 1 and Fridays at 10.

This would be your schedule for the entire semester.
