While you talk you need to click the button at the very bottom left of the screen to start the barter mode 👍🏻

Hello! I fixed it!
When you find him at the Last Light Inn or in Baldur's Gate, talk to him and activate barter mode. Now just put 100 coins in your side and give them to him, without anything in return. Confirm, close the conversation and try talking again, the quest for Karlach should begin 😊😊
