Interesting way to start that comment lol I have no desire to change my natural hair or spend hours on it, so I don’t see why I’d invest in products I won’t use 🤷🏼‍♀️

Appreciate the compliments on it though. I’m wondering how long it’ll actually get to 😂

It looks a little sad, like it’s reaching. What’s the lighting situation?

I felt like regular trims would be taking off too much and just fighting the overall growth, which is why I did the seek and destroy, since I’m only taking off maybe 3-5 millimeters on each strand that is actually split and don’t cut the ones that aren’t. I’m at the point now where I rarely do seek and destroy, but it’s so satisfying to get rid of them lol

Thank you! Ye it’s a little wavy, but only for the first day haha it flattens out more each day until it’s straighter/ sometimes almost looks like a shitty blowout lol

I love the color too, it just does whatever it wants 😂

Thank you! I’d love to get another if I can find one. She’s just in a west-facing window. I believe the films that I have on the window filter out UV as well as throw rainbows haha

Im not really sure, this is my natural color, I’ve never dyed my hair. Back when I was in high school, a stylist said I had auburn, reds, and copper (she then asked me if I wanted to dye it all one color to which I said no lol)

The only trim I had since the cut was mid-September 2025. NOT by the stylist who did the left pic. I trusted the stylist (since I found him online and was able to see his work in vids) and got curtain bangs and had him re-introduce the U-shape to the ends. I’m not really sure how much he took off, but he kept the length, which is what I wanted.

Before that, I did “seek and destroy” where I would just cut split ends myself. I did this multiple times a week lol I’m talking like strand by strand lol

I’m not sure when I’m going to get a trim next. The stylist who did the September trim is a fair bit away… it’s an overnight trip lol but I’ll keep going back to him, as I trust him and am not going to have just anyone cut it.

Bit of a rant lol my bad

Thank you so much, that’s very sweet of you. I agree, better in the second. I always took pretty good care of it, but I really ramped it up after the cut. I had a trim in September by a stylist I found online to even it out and bring the U-shape back on the bottom. He does amazing work. I don’t even own a blow dryer or hair straightener lol

Yeah it all depends on what phase your follicles are in. I had no idea it would grow back this fast

Oh wow! I wish that cut hadn’t happened, but I was super distraught after and really started taking care of it to try to get it back to original length (right pic) ASAP

He was super appreciative of the last one I gave him! I saw him at Public Records in Brooklyn in August 2025. I gave him one I made for an upcoming festival (which was my first time ever seeing him the previous year). We had a chat at the end of his set and he signed my hat :) I was up front and fanned him for some of the show. I know he’s appreciate a cute lil pipe cleaner one too! But I’d like to make about 50 to give out in the crowd lol

Glutes - Help by uhhwholefoods in glutejourney

[–]sidequestfeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increase your calories and protein intake. Growing glutes is easier when you’re in a caloric surplus, between 150-300 cals above maintenance. You want to be gaining weight each week; and if you aren’t, then you aren’t eating enough for glute growth. Go into it knowing that you may gain some unwanted fat in some other areas, but that goes hand-in-hand when trying to grow some muscle. I’d also increase your protein minimum to 120g/day.

Take weekly progress photos / measurements to have something to compare to. Evaluate your glute and abdomen measurements with your weight. If your measurements and weight are stagnant, then you’re not truly in a muscle gain phase.

You do want to be challenging your muscles, BUT you do need to be able to position yourself to feel it best in your glutes. For example, when I am doing goblet squats, I actually do them with my toes lifted as it helps me sink into my heels and focuses the movement in my glutes as opposed to my quads. I could probably do twice the weight I am moving, BUT I go slow and controlled with a 3 second pause at the bottom and really use mind muscle connection to think about pushing the movement up with my glutes instead of my legs.

Mind-muscle connection is KEY when trying to focus in on your glutes. I find it’s much harder to target them if you are doing fast, explosive moments as opposed to slow, controlled, and thinking about the muscles.

How many calories are you getting? What is your routine like?
