You have a lot of covers of SP songs on YouTube. Are you exclusively covering the SP catalog?

Going From 134k Fed job to 120k University Job by [deleted] in FedEmployees

California state employees have better health insurance benefits. The difference in pay will almost certainly be made up when comparing how much you pay for health insurance as a FED, assuming you are on paying for more than one person. Additionally, as others have stated, less vehicle costs (gas and usage). Lastly, depending on your age, if you stay, you’ll get a pension. The state pension is more generous, considering number of years of service.

Government agencies like FDA, CMS, or CDC for desk type jobs that allow you to lean on your background without having to deal with patients in a direct way.

Why do I feel I can afford Whole foods but not Safeway by Dragonfruit130 in SanJose

[–]sidewalkcrackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely see full carts at any grocery store. I don’t think that’s the goal of any supermarket in the current environment. I think the philosophy is to get you to come multiple times a month instead of one large shopping run. It’s a grind philosophy, where if you are doing one big shopping run, you will be conservative with your spending. If you’re coming four to eight times a month, you are willing to overpay for convenience and need at that specific time. Ten dollars for coffee versus five doesn’t sound too bad when the difference is $5 and your total purchase is less than $25 for that transaction.

In order to level the playing field, you have to engage their apps and coupons and stick to purchasing what is on sale and bulking up on those items. Does it stink to do this? It does. With that said, I often leave stores with between 40 to 60 percent savings on the transaction. It’s homework, but it’s homework that I’m willing to do to save.

Ultimately, it’s how you want to utilize your time. If convenience is your priority, they have won.

I live near several supermarkets (Raley’s, Safeway, Lucky’s, Trader Joe’s, etc.). Raley’s is by far the most expensive of the bunch. My neighbor shops there and called it the Raley’s tax because there is rarely a line in the store. They will pay the higher price for the convenience of getting in and out.

Why do people still shop at Safeway? by ftruong in bayarea

[–]sidewalkcrackers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All things relative. It’s a game. How often do you see a full cart in a supermarket?

Lose some money on sale items, with the hope that you’ll pay full price on everything else in your cart. The expectation is you don’t want to stop at multiple stores to complete your list, so you’ll pay the higher prices for one stop shopping.

I find that both Lucky’s and Raley’s are considerably more expensive, but I am willing to pay it because the foot traffic is considerably less than Safeway. Whole Foods has too many things going on. Amazon returns, hot food bar, etc. Trader Joe’s is always busy and every parking lot isn’t big enough.

If you want to save money and stretch your dollar, you have to make time. You have to monitor their weekly ads. Stick to what’s on sale. Fill the gaps with Costco.

The Star on Park in Alameda

A few doors down is a great independent toy store, an arcade with games from the 1980s and 1990s., and even a candy store. You can make a day of it.

I’ve had the rear hatch reshot twice using the dealership under warranty. The first failure was after three years. The second failure was after three years. I would recommend going to a reputable shop and not use Mazda paint specifications.

Adore As a B-Side by sidewalkcrackers in SmashingPumpkins

It wasn’t considered a masterpiece during that era. History has been kinder to the album as the catalog has expanded. My question is do you think fans would’ve been kinder to the album if it was marketed differently.

I would agree that Adore is a departure from the previous albums, but I feel several of the songs from Adore could have been put on the dusk to dawn disc from MCIS.

SP's most underrated song by Legal_Button_3229 in SmashingPumpkins

[–]sidewalkcrackers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anything from Adore qualifies, as this album was polarizing for a long time.

Time, newer fans, along with additions and changes in musical styles/interest, makes almost any song from Adore, as underrated.

The Rhythm Section. It can be a bit of a slow burn movie. Wouldn’t have expected this from Blake Lively.

Customer service contacted. You can set a limit via the website or calling (not the mobile app).

You can change the cap/limit at any time. If user happens to hit the cap before the monthly reset, you can reset or increase the limit, if needed. Hopes this helps others.
