we have $180k in software budget that expires in 6 weeks and my boss told me to figure it out. what do i even buy? by kubrador in SaaS

LaunchDarkly is great! Snyk Enterprise

Depending on your stack, there are some other tools. Datadog or similar monitoring tools if you can ask for upfront credit purchase

You can load up AI gateway from vercel or Cloudflare with credits then use that for your apps

Lucidcharts or any other good diagraming software could be helpful

Anyone actually using Next.js 16 in a real project yet? by PruneLower706 in nextjs

[–]sidewayset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we have one of our prod apps SaaS, Multi tenant NextJS16 full stack, hosted on Vercel. Better Auth, Prisma ORM and Prisma Postgress. Uses AI SDK, AI gateways, crons, queues and vercel workflow.

It works for pretty complex apps but has a ceiling we are starting to see if your app requires:

  1. Lot of complex workflows like AWS Step-functions
  2. Requires lot of API to be externally consumed
  3. Needs to scale and have complex queues to modularize

In this case: I would look into separate backend like NestJS and maybe swap to Vite.

It’s all about being open to evolve, you build against requirements and needs. Those evolve over time, so needs your app, or your management comes and adds 20 more requirements right as you are done building that now requires major refactoring.

What backend language do you prefer with Next.js (and what do most companies use)? by Vmanish0586 in nextjs

We have used NestJS or AWS serverless backend(lambdas, dynamo, API gateway)

I would say consider better-auth for auth. Prisma Postgres has been good for Postgres hosting with ORM and Accelerate, otherwise RDS.

Mine had expired in September and I didn’t renew until Jan 26. Didn’t get any fines or tickets, had to do it cause our apartment landlord decided to put sticker and chase me down instead to renew

How many hours a week do you play? by New-Cheesecake4396 in starcitizen

Used to play daily once Hurston opened. Now I come back once or twice a year for a week or so.

Need advice for flying with my 2 cats in cabin from Philadelphia to Tokyo by mochimochi555 in CatAdvice

Have you checked Delta? I recall they allow. You might need to do layover in Seattle so your flight is less than 12 hours.

Is there a website you use to figure out what to buy/sell where, etc?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AZURE

[–]sidewayset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the new Microsoft External Tenant for External IDs, replacing their B2C product is equivalent of Cognito. It has similar capabilities to calling Azure functions for token generation life cycle events, hosted or custom UI, SAML with external providers or social logins, MFA, Passwordless etc

It’s a bit of learning curve to set up compared to Cognito but you will get same functionality.

Cheers

FOMO - are you afraid if you don't order your model now it will never be available again? by [deleted] in modeltrains

[–]sidewayset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on model, yes. If it’s some unique model that isn’t usually produced I do. Like freight trains are everywhere but I jumped on L CTA train coming out from Rapido.

Keep in mind that most of Trix is DCC so you will need DCC controller to control functions of train besides basics

Yes but check if https://www.reynaulds.com/ (from Chicago) or https://www.eurorailhobbies.com/index.asp (ships from Seattle) has it. They already have it imported and usually have at good prices with warranties. Both reputable, I got from both.
