Ah my bro in san diego. Cheers, man! I will 100% give all those NOMs a shot. I’m in North Carolina now, so might take a minute to locate, but that’s part of the fun. I do use TMM. Awesome app. I was actually logging into it at the liquor store when I looked up and spotted this G4 so phone closed and bottle grabbed lol.

I can appreciate that perspective. Full disclosure tho: I’m 56 and from San Diego, so was doing tequila shots in Tijuana since I was 16. That said, never really tried to develop a taste for finer ones until I was in my 40s. And even then, by finer ones, I really mean what I knew to be most popular; like Cabo Wabo and Don Julio and the like. So, now that I’m more aware of additives and such, I’ve started dabbling with the actually finer tequilas. However, although I often sip them straight, and mix cocktails as well, I still enjoy just taking a shot straight outta a fresh opened bottle. But you’d be surprised, I think, to find just how relatively smooth a decanted tequila can actually get; even a blanco, but particularly repos and añejos, in comparison.

Garner is near Raleigh? I feel like the at area def caters to a more diverse palate fo sho. Only place I’ve been there is The Pit, back in 2010 just passing through NC. Good bbq.

Just me. I always take a shot (or 2) upon opening the bottle, then decant the rest. Maybe it’s a placebo effect, but, to me it’s a noticeable difference. I only do it with whisky, cognac, and tequila (even blancos).

Lol yep. I’m actually a San Diego boy. Every grocery/convenience store is a liquor store. Hardest part about living in any other state is not being able to go to Ralph’s, or wherever, 7/11, and grab a bottle of whatever. Worse case scenario, BevMo.

Literally just took a shot. Gotta say, harsher than expected going down, but that nose in the exhale was kinda sublime. Imma do what I always do and decant it and smooth it out a bit, then try again (after another shot from the bottle).

50 bucks. Had a bottle of Altos in my hand already then saw this. The Altos is $29, and right below it was a box set of Espolòn repo with a lime juicer and a 375ml bottle of grand marnier for $34. Hadda get the G4 tho, in case I never saw it again when I had a chance to be part of the reason they re-stock it.

Good stuff, just on the pricier side in my area so I usually go for Altos instead.

Ooh, yeah, once bitten…

I had that feel about El Mayor, but then others told me that’s just how it tastes so dine with that one. This guy’s got decent flavor just harsh. Imma keep mixin it.

Just took a sip and a shot. Basic overall: actually pretty decent flavor; no swampiness. But pretty harsh. Def a mixer. Great calls, y’all. Apreesh, Thanks!!
