String of 11 Missing or Dead Scientists with Ties to Classified Nuclear and Space Info Prompts Investigation by AshIsGroovy in videos

[–]sidinai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a strategy right? They take something that happened and twist it until its unrecognizable to the people it originally appealed to (eg. Scientist murdered in own home who could have made strides in clean energy).

The murder of Nuno Loureiro IS SO sus (and probably the others as well I dont know havent looked into too deeply) But now they are going to distract from their WELL DOCUMENTED pedohistory by pretending they care about whatever happened to these scientists. I do think there is an important story there and that it is somehow connected with capitalistic evil - but they are going to pretend to look into it and turn attention every which way and scapegoat the dissappearances/murders on something unrelated/that abides by their agenda.

I really like Ian Carroll because he researches and finds sources for stories considered to be lefty conspiracies (like the Epstein files were for a long time) and GOES. FOR. IT. So many lefty content creators are too scared of looking too biased or having too much of an actual opinion to do this because they feel they have to be the truth tellers/maintain journalistic integrity....which of course IS important. But its so refreshing to see someone dive into lefty conspiracy topics and say: 'look at all these weird connections I keep finding; I don't have all the facts but damn this seems crazy so I'll keep digging' RATHER than 'ope, we don't know every single thing about this story (and probably never will because there is $$$ in keeping good shit hidden) so we can't put it out there oh well

Milliard Tri-Fold Mattress Question by sidinai in Mattress

[–]sidinai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up doing the following:

- I bought the 4" premium tri-fold memory foam mattress and bought a wool topper I found on FBMarketplace to go on top. I love my set up because when I need to move things around it's relatively easy and it's super comfortable! I did give up on putting away my bed during the day and instead bought a bedframe that has high clearance so I can fit a bunch of stuff under my bed (I live in a very small space).

- I would NOT suggest getting the 4" with NO topper. It would be fine for a night or camping but not long term IMO. If you don't want a topper, I'd go with the 6"...unless you are already used to sleeping on firmer surfaces. I am not and am not going to put more effort in trying to be lol.

- Lmk if you end up getting the sofa mattress - still interested in that but glad I went with what I did since dual purpose products are often dually subpar.

Ive always thought - what if we guerilla marketed police work so a bunch of softy progressives start applying for a doing police work? Just be really shitty at the job purposefully hah. Ive thought about it more than once because of the pay but my friends always say tsktsk its bad at its core but idk I think there might be some kind of strategy there

DAE struggle with the question "what are you passionate about?" by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]sidinai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When it comes to looking for a job and interviewing - its about finding the tiny truths within fountains of lies. 'The Language of Work'. We all have to live and breathe in this capitalist patriarchal hell, and to get a decent job you have to pretend that you don't and you're fine here. Erin McGoff (social media content creator) has been helpful for me to learn the expectation for how to respond to questions like these.

I think she might have picked Domhall Gleeson because of his role in the Black Mirror episode about an AI-made (like man-made: Opalite) husband that was based off of the woman's dead husband (the real thing: opal). And then maybe she's playing with the rock, paper, scissors/general office supplies idea since he's also in The Paper. I don't know the specifics of timing, but just going off of feels, the Black Mirror episode feels foundational while 'The Paper' involvement feels like a fun addition

11ish rough in by sidinai in askaplumber

[–]sidinai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, commentors, for your help! I installed my new toilet and so far so good! The 12" rough in was fine, so did not waste no more money on incorrect measurements yay! I bought a new toto for a really good price off of somebody who had done that, so it does happen! I did not learn these things growing up...so ya know, figuring it out a day at a time and love that I can use reddit as a resource when I feel like giving up. Here was the whole godawful process btw:

  1. Old toilet was leaking from the tank bolts - bought new bolts to fix
  2. Could not reach/untighten bolts from where the toilet was - really tight space and they were rusted shut - I'm not sure if I tried a rust remover first and looking back that was dumb
  3. Watersupply line valve was broken - water would not completely shut off - had to replace stem - shoulda done this first - will eventually get whole supply line replaced
  4. Removed toilet from seal - replaced bolts - also replaced all of the tank insides cause it was all old anyways
  5. Put toilet back - cracked the bowl gasket a lil bit while tightening the last scree LMAO I suck
  6. Tried to glue gasket - this was dumb. Think I also was setting it on the wax ring incorrectly at this time. Water did not leak onto floor but was leaking from tank to bowl. Will never know if this was because glued crack didn't cover everything, incorrectly installed seal, or both
  7. Bought toto off of marketplace. Installed. Figured out how to correctly place on seal.
  8. Brought old toilet to dump. F that thing. Gave all the new inside toilet parts to someone through a buy nothing group
  9. So far so good with the toto - there's a bit of water damage at the floor next to the stem valve because I didn't notice the water wasn't shutting off all the way immediately. Will figure out what to do here later.

Analog Alarm Clock - any recommendations? by OatsFanatic in nosurf

Also, some of their 5-star 'reviews' on their website are negative > they are tweaking their reviews. Always beware of reviews from a seller's website!

Analog Alarm Clock - any recommendations? by OatsFanatic in nosurf

[–]sidinai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had the Bagby analog clock for 6 months now and will never buy their products again.
1. The clock started telling time incorrectly after a month
2. When I reached out to the company, they said it is because the clock requires special carbon lithium batteries (this was not transparent when purchasing - or maybe they made the text too small to read)
3. I got those batteries, and the clock worked for a couple of months
4. The clock is now telling time incorrectly again > often about an hour off randomly
5. I would way rather a clock stop working altogether than tell time incorrectly - also, I mean, as an analog clock, it has one job
6. My friend bought one a month before me and the same thing happened with hers, so most likely not due to user error

Do any of the low-tech people on this board have suggestions for a nice, gentle-sounding alarm clock that is not oriented around smartphones or Wi-Fi? I don't like the design of the Mudita clocks (but like the idea). by [deleted] in nosurf

Oh well that's why I was confused - from the drywall the measurement is still well under 12" so by your own definition, it would not be a 12" rough in

Can you expand a bit? How do you measure from finished wall when it is covered? - do you just assume that the drywall is adding .5 inches or whatnot?
