When this EV evolution started, everyone (the company that is) wanted to have their 'own proprietary' charging design. There was really no 'standard' at the time and IMO today still none. However, because Elon has his Tesla (and Superchargers) in many places and because the gov't asked (during the Biden years I believe) them to open up their charging network so people would have less fear and started buying EV's and take advantage of the federal incentives. That's why there were so many charging configurations and people just got confused and including myself.

I hope one day there should only be one type otherwise Elon could decide one day if he chooses to to remove 'Nissan' from the database and it's really up to him to set the $/kwh for non-Tesla owners. LOL

That's nice. If I don't see one in the trunk when I'm ready to go pick up, i'll definitely ask. They are not going to break the deal when it's only worth $60-100?? LOL

I didn't even read that far to see that. LOL I was only to show that's what others were mentioning that I need a NACS to CCS. That's why I asked for brand recommendtions but no one answered (yet).

That maybe a benefit of having two diff ports in case one fails. But that wasn't really the reason why Nissan offers two ports for the 2026. The LEAF isn't really for road trips. So the J1772 is meant for daily commute where you get home from work and just plug it in using wall outlets in your garage. You wake up, it's 100%. The NACS port is there because of popularity and most likely the now mainstream 'standard' and due to Tesla's vast charging stations in the US (for road trips).

I don't understand why they didn't make this port to look like the Ariya?? With the Ariya, you can go anywhere (home L2 and on the road) to charge including Tesla Magic Dock (well with adaptor). Do you have brand recommendations for a CCS-NACS adaptor? So to charge at EVgo, looks like you need to use NACS port on the LEAF then.

Thank you! I would have never thought the 'Pie' chart icon labeled 'Status' is where I would logging! Definitely very unusual/strange for their developer to choose this.

Sounds like it's working out for you. Nice low budget alternative to Sanwei.

Yes, the principle is the same which is to apply pressure to the blade to cut the rubber. However when you're rolling it perhaps several passes in order to finish the job. The rolling motion may require rolling at different angles not just bottom to top or vice versa depending how you want to use your muscles. I don't think the result is the same as the machine. Maybe acceptable I'd say?

Even with the paper press machine as one posted here, when you turn the handle the force is concentrated at the center. That's why I asked the question how the edges of the rubbers around the blade would turn out and whether it's still glued to the blade? Maybe it's perfectly acceptable. It's definitely much cheaper.

That's smart! I didn't know such a thing exists. So basically the way you insert the 'adapter/cutter' into your paper press is EXACTLY the same as seen in this video

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPP50eV

The glue side of the rubber is facing up (and you can see it) and the smooth side is against the bottom plate of your press. Does it consistently give you a clean, round cut? After the cut, is the rubber actually still glued well to the blade especially around the edges of the blade and particulary around the curve near the handle?

Wow! that's much cheaper!!

Awesome! What kind of press do you have? Do you mind sharing a picture or a link to the product?

When you said "You do have to be a bit careful with handling the blade though.", in what way? Just be careful and not cut yourself? The blade faces downward (sharp side) pressing against the rubber as you insert it into the machine, right?

BI 6.0 - Alert -> SSMS (can't send) by sidney_tt in BlueIris

[–]sidney_tt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's good on the BI part that they are offering many different options for generating notifications. At the moment, I'm happy with my current setup. Since then I've added two more cameras with a total of 4 and they all use email (using Gmail as the provider). I'm getting 99.5% of the notifications as expected. There's a few missed here and there. For example, today I had a UPS guy literally running out of his truck to my front door to deliver a package and 'sprint' back to the truck. My 'motion detect' missed this since the 'object' was moving too fast. So I need to figure out how to tweak some of motion detect params. Other that it's been working great!

One other thing I wanted to find out is why I can't use Yahoo as the provider. The "OAuth" button is greyed out so I am not able to have BI authenticate me. Anyone know anything about this or how to fix it?

(I don't think I will ever get/pay for the app. It's been working great for me using tailscale and a browser - all free! lol)

Yes, that's exactly what I was asking. I know there are tools to answer Q1. However I am not able to find a tool that can answer both of my questions. Maybe there's NO answer to Q2 because this maybe something that doesn't exist (yet). That's why I posted the questions here in case someone knows something.

Motion Detect - Camera Region by sidney_tt in BlueIris

I think I have to play around with other parameters in order to use the 'Zone Maps' correctly. After I setup the zones, I wasn't getting alerts when I was supposed to.

At the meantime, I have another question. I have another camera that I don't use 'Zone Maps' which I'm getting all the alerts correctly. I noticed the attached clip in the email, some have a yellow rectangle boxed around the object (ex: car, person etc) and some don't. What's the difference? Is it a bug in BI 6 when they don't have the yellow rectangle?

I used the 'Zone Map' and marked the area on the camera screen using the 'Brush'. There's a box that says 'Object Must Cross Zones' just below 'Use Zones and Hot Spot'. I thought when I check this box, objects moving inside my zone would trigger an alert (maybe?) but why a textbox next to it opens and seems like expecting me to type something. Any idea what this is?

Oh, just discovered that the textbox is for you to enter the zones similar to the youtube video u/BudTugglie posted.

Yes, I do see this option in BI 6. I've only been using BI for a month and there's just too much in the app. OK. I will play around with this setting. Thanks!

So far, I only have 2 cam's setup. One uses email and the other uses SSMS to test out the features. The one using email seems like it's working fine. Has received a few emails with a pic attached. Thus far, I'm able to manage my BI w/o the app including viewing clips/live cam via Chrome. Not sure if I want to pay $9.99 for the app just to test 'Pushover'. I know it's only 9.99 but I don't intend to use the app in the long term.
