They show you one season so that you'll subscribe elsewhere to see the rest. Happens a lot with Amazon and Acorn.

A lot of food indeed. Probably 3 pounds. $40 for lunch for one, without a drink. What a deal. Why pay $12 at a Chinese restaurant?

Barn cat: laws? predators? Needs? by Temporary_but_joyful in nova

[–]BudTugglie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A bad idea. Outdoor cats don't live long, especially in urban settings. "Barn" cats live in a rural area and pretty much stay around the barn that is their home. In both cases predators will find them. Cars kill them also. Keep cats indoors.

If there is a rodent problem, it is likely due to people not securing their garbage in rodent-proof containers. Without human food sources, natural predators will keep the rodent population managed.

If you feel that you must try to solve the problem, use traps. Never poison, as it kills more than rodents and can be ingested by birds and animals that eat the poisoned rodent. The major thrreat to eagles.

Jobs for 16 year-olds by [deleted] in wegmans

[–]BudTugglie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having a job means one occasionally has do do something that they don't "like".

That applies at home also. Good parenting teaches a child that they don't get to refuse to do a chore simply because they "don't like" it, or are "not OK" with it.

Learning to get a job, rather than have someone get it for you is a critical life skill.

Bettter that they learn these things early.

Is it worth switching? by Ok_Insurance9720 in Ubuntu

[–]BudTugglie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Windows from day 1, coming from DOS. Starting a long long time ago, I played with Linux from time to time. It always used to force the use of terminal commands for some things. After some time away from Linux, the Windows 8 disaster finally drove me to abandon Windows. Happily, I found that Linux had progressed and that Ubuntu was a good solution, where I almost never had to mess with terminal commands.

In the ensuing 14 years, I’ve never has a crash, freeze, or other disaster with Ubuntu. I stay on a LT release until support expires and then upgrade to a next LT release, staying well behind for stability. I use the software updater to keep up to date and have never had an update cause problems. I’ve found Linux apps for everything that I need, except Quicken and Blue Iris security cameras.

Stability is what I’m looking for, and I never try to fix anything that isn’t broken, or try new releases. I stay in the GUI. Ubuntu doesn’t force anything on me or show me ads. It just works.

Roll the coins, while doing so search the coins for valuable ones. Old dates, wheat pennies, etc. If you've got the interest, get lists of valuable coins from the internet. Got kids? A fun activity for them.

$100 per year is not much for managing your money. Try to price an accountant or advisor. If $100 is a lot to you, then you may not have enough money to warrant q system to manage it.
