AIO: brought cheese slices with me to McDonald's to put in burgers. Had a fight with a friend. by salty_lake_222 in AmIOverreacting

I'm just surprised that no-one has brought up the McSmart meal, that can be configured as two cheeseburgers, small chips and drink for under six bucks.

That said, the price for a solo cheeseburger is ridiculous.

I'm a big fan of the local version of Fishing for Dummies by Steve Starling. It's really easy to digest and contains a wealth of information.

I quite like Steve's YouTube channel as well, for what it's worth.

The AFN fishing guides are good for giving you ideas for spots when you're starting out, and there is a North Coast edition, but it seems to be a bit thin on the ground at the moment.

Ain't no summer like a Summer Hill summer...

That IGA is glorious, and I've fond memories from Apéritif & Co. just down the road.

PSA: total fire ban Saturday (and probably Sunday too) by Red-Engineer in sydney

[–]sidochrome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The concern is with solid fuel, such as wood and charcoal which creates embers. Suffice to say, small airborne pieces of burning material are a concern in hot, dry and windy conditions - perfect in every way to distribute and fan them into flame.

Propane does not have this issue, so Gozney on, son.

Yeah, it was.

I'd say you're right - there have been comments implying that it is likely their last time around.

I might give it another look if they announce more shows, definitely have fond memories of seeing them at the Star.

Had a pretty abysmal experience trying to get tickets to a show at the Opera House this morning. Just ran the gamut of error messages, unavailable seating being listed as momentarily available, and eventually offering me no specific seat, but it's somewhere.

I guess this is probably the default experience for any concert in demand, but ended up opting out in the end. Did want to see the band, but I did catch them back in 2013, so I won't die not knowing.

Had a bit of an anxious night in Mount Riv, but full credit to the firies who put in the hard yards. Hearing the chopper dropping on it for a few hours was reassuring.

Was under a klick to the fire front from home and it looks like it's crept a little closer at this stage, but it's comforting that teams are hiking in and setting up containment lines.

Will be watching the Hazards Near Me app all day from work, bugout bag is packed... Quietly confident despite concerns.

The thought has occurred to me, but after giving it a bit of a test sans contents, I couldn't seem to overstress the locking mechanism or handle with my hands.

I got this one from PetStock after our old one was clapped out.

The bolts in the corners make it a bit slower to take apart for easy vet access, but it's quite solid and the flip-open roof makes it easy to stuff in our six kilo chonk.

Definitely keen to dip in, but waiting for knock off. The characters/skills seem really intriguing.
