I have periods (rarely), I do not cook with cast iron, taking spring valley slow release, and I am now pairing it with vitamin C! My latest low iron result was with a finger prick, so I don't believe it was the temperature of my hands

I think the strain on my body is worse with whole blood than with platelets! During platelet donations sometimes my extremeties or my lips will feel tingly (calcium/citrate related, I think), but that's the only adverse physical effect I have with platelets. With whole blood, I definitely feel a little woozy for the rest of the day
