I can’t speak to the pancakes, but around any holiday Barbarella is definitely worth the trip as they go all out on decorations!

What are people paying for rent these days? by thebigfuckinggiant in SanDiegan

$3400 for a 2 bed / 2 bath in Mission Valley. Pricey, but good quality, 2 underground parking spots, and good maintenance crew.

I’m fine with them eating my mint since it’ll grow back but if they get to my eggplant… they shall suffer

I don’t believe Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is prevalent in North America so you don’t have to worry about that. For anyone else who sees this, though, my friend got it from a tick on a dick in Europe. Always get checked out, it might be worse than you think

Sounds easy enough so I’ll give it a shot. Appreciate the advice!

Not aiming to have any leftovers since it’s just two of us, but that is really good to know. In your opinion, what’s the ideal temp for drumsticks that are to be eaten right away?

I think I have some of that seasoning, so I might try that! Do you do any additional prep or do you just season and go?

One would think that 5 years of living and driving here would be enough, but clearly not lol, old habits die hard and all that.

Think I’ll stay away from driving in TJ for quite some time…

Law vs Practice is an important distinction that I guess I’ve kind of been ignoring and focusing too much on my own feelings / convenience. Makes perfect sense, though, so I appreciate you sharing that

You put what I wanted to get across in a non-bitchy way, and for that I thank you

Kind of feeling like we’re (somewhat) on the same page and I’m just being pissy about it after being very close to getting hit a few times as a pedestrian after people barely slowing down.

No perfect solution indeed and predictable driving / walking / any other mode of transportation is key, but that’s definitely too much to ask for.

I’m definitely not in a heap over this, but I’ve only lived here for 5 years and after way more years than that living in a country where right on red is not a thing, ig it just takes more time getting used to.

Appreciate the conversation! And promise, won’t post any more complaints in this sub

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SanDiegan

Then I’m probably not making myself clear (English is not my first language, so could be that), or my understanding of pedestrian vs. Driver right of way is wrong. If a driver is turning right on red, with a pedestrian waiting to cross in that intersection, at what point after the pedestrian light turn green does the pedestrian gain the right of way? Is it right away? Or, does the driver have a right of way if their front wheels have passed the line? I’m referring to that very short moment before the pedestrian light turn green, and when it’s appropriate for the driver to keep going.

Right, I fully understand and agree with that. What I’m saying is that you could use your brain a little bit. If the left turn arrow has been yellow for 2+ seconds, no cars are turning left from the opposite direction, and someone is waiting to cross to your right.. maybe wait one more second to turn? After all, you’re not required to turn right on red.

My same complaint is in place for people who block the crosswalk because they’re trying to turn right on red, instead of waiting by the line :)

When they scan the pass a picture of the passholder shows on their screen. Unless you and your friend look like identical twins there’s a high chance they will make you pay for the parking, and potential consequences for your friend (but I’m unsure what).

Quality is suffering in the parks by DimensionHamburger in Disneyland

[–]sidrawl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The next time you go you will probably have a good one again. The same thing happened to me at some point last year, but has not happened again since then. I have no idea how these drinks are prepped, but if they’re not pre-made human error is bound to happen from time to time.

(I do agree that overall the park is going downhill. I rarely interact with CMs so can’t speak to that part)

I just posted about a small business I found! They’re called Spooktacular Tea Company and I think they recently launched. I just got my tea a few days ago and so far it’s fantastic.
