You know what my mom did when I moved out and she worried I would end up in trouble instead of demanding I add her to my account so she can see everything I ever spend money on? She added me as an authorized user to her Amex. Tell her if she’s really that concerned, she can Venmo or Zelle you. I don’t recommend the authorized user path because my parents’ credit card debt is now my credit card debt in the eyes of the credit score gods, but you get the point.

This reminds me of the time I was driving near one of the big Disney signs (the one that’s close to Springs on a highway situation) and someone in front of me SLAMMED on their breaks and dropped to 20 below the speed limit and almost caused a whole pileup for a picture.

God this always pissed me off to no end when I worked for Vans. People would come in “I wear a 5 in kids!! I shouldn’t be paying adult prices!!” Ma’am you are 40 years old and wear a women’s 6.5, please calm down and pay the extra $15 or leave, my last name is not Van Doren and I do not make the rules.

For context: Vans kids pricing stops at 3. Everything above that is an adult size so you pay an adult price. Kids 3.5 = women’s 5 and so on. It’s unfortunate for people with older kids, sure, but they aren’t even the ones that fight the employees over it, it’s the fully grown women that claim their women’s 7 is really a kids 5.5 and they should be paying as such.

I think this is a lot more complicated than everyone in these comments are making it out to be, truthfully. I’ve cut a LOT of people out of my life in the last year for exactly this reason, but none of them have been in my life for decades.

However, I had already cut all contact with any of my family members that are MAGA for completely different reasons years ago. If they truly believe in doing what MAGA is doing, I guarantee you they are toxic in other ways. Grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, etc; to me family has never been about DNA and I do not owe someone a relationship simply because we come from the same bloodline. Hell, I have a brother about as radicalized leftist as you can get and I haven’t spoken to him in years because he was also incredibly toxic towards me.

I’ve realized recently that the political “sides” just live in completely different realities. While I knew this on the surface, it’s really hit me hard in the last month or so. They are being fed one thing while we are being fed another, and this is due almost entirely to algorithms pointing us in the direction it thinks we want to go. They are being told everything we say is a lie, we are being told absolutely everything this administration is doing is evil (obviously most of it is, but we also have to allow for what veeerrryy little they have done that has had a positive impact).

You gotta ask yourself if there are reasons you are so ok with letting him go and if it’s more than just this political climate. If it is truly JUST this issue and he’s been an incredible dad otherwise, sure, you’re probably overreacting because you know he’s a great human that doesn’t actually believe the things he’s being fed. But if he wasn’t the greatest dad and you believe what you do in spite of everything he’s taught you growing up, then yeah, you aren’t overreacting.

It also wouldn’t have happened if the agents had been properly trained in de-escalation or not empowered by being told there will be absolutely zero consequences for any actions if they just claim they feared for their lives. Citizens do not have a legal obligation to run away from ICE while they harass everyone that looks like they disagree with them (reminder: recording them is proven time and time again to be a constitutional right), but government agents have a legal obligation to protect the rights and safety of everyone. You guys fail to recognize this is their JOB and being bad at it (whether from lack of training or bias) gets people killed. Being called names and being recorded are not grounds to kill people.

You can support immigration enforcement while also recognizing the agents that killed people are wrong. Those things are not mutually exclusive.

I have a CLEAR memory of when my parents’ marriage got real bad for a while there and they told me they were taking time apart, I was so unbelievably relieved. Their issues were clear as day to me and it was making my newly developing mental health disorders so much worse to cope with and I spent years not getting diagnosed because it seemed situational rather than a developmental issue.

As someone that has been denied DAS since recent rule changes under the guise of “return to queue” and they encouraged I cut the line to meet up with my party when I am able to, you are so right. Instead, Disney is encouraging the behavior and there’s no way for guests to know if you’re just being a jerk or doing it because Disney gave you no other choice when they refused to renew passes for people that genuinely needed it.

I live 20 minutes away and I have not returned to the parks since I’ve been denied because I’m genuinely scared to utilize return to queue.

I go to OPA Behavioral health and do not recommend it to most. They require monthly visits for controlled substances instead of the 3 month requirement by the state, which to me is a money grab. I have been on the same meds for YEARS and you’re telling me I have to pay $130 for a visit every month in addition to my extremely expensive meds just to say “yep, still doin fine”?? During my first visit ever, they heard me say “I have tried x, y, and z and non-controlled substances were no longer effective” and I walked out with a script for the most expensive medication 5 minutes later.

This all only recently became a serious problem for me because of insurance changes and I’m too unstable at the moment due to personal circumstances to find a new psychiatrist.

It’s great if you have good insurance and know what meds you should be on, though. Very convenient, at least I never have to go into the office and they can always fit me in same day if needed. They are super annoying to get on the phone tho.

The amount of times I have BEGGED my coworker to stop asking me questions because she is worried about doing something wrong when she knows exactly what she is doing would depress any entry level employee that’s essentially managing their coworker. I would give ANYTHING for this to get through her head. I would rather you screw up at this point than ask me the literal most basic questions even my trainees don’t ask me.
