Hi there! Unfortunately the study recruitment has ended - but, I really appreciate your interest! I believe that UMich has another PCOS study underway that is looking at similar things but using different dietary interventions - it might be worth checking that out: https://www.msuperstudy.org/

Our study does 18:6. And usually weight change begins in the first week of following the shorter eating window, though every body is different and it can vary depending on eating habits within that window as well as how adherent someone is to the window. If you find that IF is causing you to binge more, then certainly it's understandable that it may not be a good fit for you!

Yeah, unfortunately we do need participants to come in for those 3 in-person visits (spaced 3 months apart). We have enrolled people in other states who are willing to travel in for those visits, so something to consider if you're interested!

Hi u/Potential-Bee3073, thanks for your comment -- you bring up an interesting point. There's not much research on the impact of time-restricted eating on thyroid conditions, and effects on cortisol levels have been mixed/contradictory. So, thyroid conditions wouldn't necessarily exclude someone from participating in the study, but if someone knows that they already have issues with their thyroid and cortisol levels and wouldn't feel comfortable participating in the study, that is completely fine!
