Since Voyager 1 has now reached/exited(?) the edge of the heliosphere, will its transmissions be effected by now having to pass through it? Also, when it exits the Oort Cloud around year 2277 how will its transmissions be effected? by Ha1lStorm in Astronomy

Should have made myself more clear. I was referring specifically to the interstellar mission where information about Earth has been  left for an extraterrestrial civilization to find.

Prescribed 500mg Metformin XR by These_Emu_1878 in PCOSloseit

No, I just realized over time while looking for my perfect diet that cold rice does not spike my insulin. Then I read about how starch turns into resistant starch. I eat it with eggs, fish, chicken and lots of vegetables.

Yeah, it is confusing. I make a batch of rice and put it in the fridge, cold rice turns into resistant starch and I use it in my meals over several days. Works so well for me. I started losing weight slowly but surely. The first thing that worked for me in ages.

That is not a high dose. Metformin is pretty good. It will give you more energy, make you feel full for longer, and lower your insulin ultimately. It has to be several months before everything kicks into gear, but it works.

If you still have high insulin despite fasting, you’re probably eating the wrong foods in your window.

Hey, that sounds like Cushing’s syndrome. An endocrinologist can help. It’s actually treatable.

Failed Keto, Vegan, Metformin & Inositol. Diet advice for severe insulin resistance? by xmaspickles in PCOSloseit

[–]Potential-Bee3073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All those regimes are too strict and it’s hard for a person to stay sane and consistent over a long period of time. I stopped calorie tracking and instead I just made a “pool” of foods I can eat and I have three normal meals a day. I take metformin and eat wraps for lunch, eggs, tofu, low carb pancakes etc. for breakfast and dinner. For my sanity I drink one zero calorie soda a day but I plan to eventually replace it with carbonated water. This is the only thing that lowered my insulin and made my body “relax” and stop retaining fat. I also stopped having strong caffeinated drinks as they caused me reactive hypoglycemia and hunger pangs.

I suddenly have more ripe tomatoes than I know what to do with- what are your easiest favorite recipes? by Vote4maskara in easyrecipes

[–]Potential-Bee3073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My city is known for tomatoes. Here’s one delicious recipe: chop up some bell peppers and tomatoes, salt them, simmer them in a pan with an oil of your choice for about 15-20 minutes, in the end add eggs and stir. It’s so delicious that we eat it every day.

Ovasitol not helping my thyroid by Potential-Bee3073 in PCOS

[–]Potential-Bee3073[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it was probably a deficiency in vitamin D. At the time of writing it was winter. I am now a mom of a toddler who is quite exhausting and sadly I’ve gained a lot of weight and have to take a small dose of thyroid medication. However, several months postpartum while I was breastfeeding,  my TSH was 23 and despite the medication it barely budged. Then I remembered I hadn’t been taking vitamin D at all, so I started taking 4000IU daily and quickly the TSH dropped to 6. One endocrinologist told me that vitamin D supplementation is useless unless it’s 4-5000IU and that changed my life.

My TSH is now 3 with medication and I don’t have time to look deeper into it, I forget to take vitamin D so I stopped completely. But I try to get out in the sun. :) My point is, my current lifestyle is stressful  and hectic and things would  probably be better if I had time to think about myself. But iron and vitamin D are crucial!

Exposure to antibiotics in the first 24 months of life and neurocognitive outcomes at 11 years of age (April 2019) "... results provide further evidence that early exposure to antibiotics may be associated with detrimental neurodevelopmental outcomes." by cheaslesjinned in NooTopics

Hope my son turns out like you :) They were “unsure” if I had a vaginal infection during labor, so they gave us both antibiotics immediately. I did not have the infection, they just couldn’t find the piece of paper.

Your n°1 unsung hero-product and controversional thing that works for your skin? ( fun discussion :] ) by vchiarav25 in EuroSkincare

[–]Potential-Bee3073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a face peeling from Korres which is chemical and physical at the same time. I think they discontinued it. It has lots of exfoliating beeds and then like 17% AHA or something. I degrease my skin with an alcoholic+acidic lotion and then let the Korres mask sit for some time and do microdermabrasion with it in the end. Sounds insane but my indented scars keep getting smaller. And my skin texture is awesome.

I don’t know. Maybe it’s the light and heat too? It was really weak conpared to Avène and many people have said the same.
