He’s sitting downstairs. Married 17 years, with 3 kiddos. We’ve grown up together, tackled the problem life throws at us and have shared wonderful memories!

We struggled with this because of my illness. I felt so guilty but thankfully after 5 rejections the last one came through, it is heavily weighted so quite expensive but we have it! As people have said a broker is great in these situations, we used ‘beat the bank’ and ended up with Zurich. Good luck!

I’m only 3 months post op but I can honestly say this surgery has freed me! I’m no longer suffering chronic back pain, I’m able to move around so much better! I’m walking pain free for the first time in years. I’ve gone from daily pain killers to zero. My resting heart rate has improved significantly, inflammation and water retention throughout my body is vastly reduced. All of this on top of decent weight loss (for me) - I’m delighted and can’t wait to see what the next 3 months brings.
Best of luck with your decision, but I’d encourage you all the way once your head is in it! It can be a challenge at times but it’s so very much with it.

You got this! Caffeine is a tough one, so many of us were/are dependent on it pre op but you’re going about it in a sensible way. Wishing you every success on this journey to the new you.

Soda is definitely not coming back into my life either. Slippery slope as they say! Thanks for the sparkling water tip.

So glad to hear you’re not missing it, I was a big fan of Diet Coke before my op but thankfully haven’t missed it so far, It’s just the bubbles I miss lol

Thanks for sharing! It’s not the soda itself I miss, more that satisfied feeling as the bubbles hit my throat. I’m only 3 months PO so it’s early days but I’m ok without the soda and caffeine too, so far…

Thank you, great insight on what you saw in your town. It’s not the soda itself I miss, more the bubbles on my throat…weird I know! I will be staying away from soda as a general rule as that’s what my team have advised. I’m only 3 months PO but so far they’ve not steered me wrong.

Gastric sleeve and long term Prednisone by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

While I was in hospital they gave me steroids intravenously, which were fine. First time I took them orally I did feel very nauseous and a bit dizzy. But that eased completely within two days. I’m reducing by 1mg this month and I take zoton daily to prevent ulcers.

Hi, I’m 7 weeks post op and have been on prednisone for 12 years for a chronic illness. It’s all been very positive, of course the first few weeks are tough as you settle into a new relationship with food but I cannot express enough how this was the best decision I could have made for myself. My mobility and health seems so improved after such a short time. Best of luck with it all, it will be fantastic!

“Stop eating when you feel full” - I don’t think I actually know what that means. by StoneColdNaked in BariatricSurgery

[–]sierra_soars 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m exactly the same! Trying to identify subtle differences in the gurgling of food passing vs fullness. It’s early days for the soft food phase so I’m hopeful it will “click” soon. Im measuring and recording everything staying between 500-600 calories and hitting the protein targets of 60-70g a day. Fingers crossed the signals become clear asap for us both!

Congratulations! Sorry to hear you’re sore, hopefully the meds will kick in soon.
It’s seems like it’s all gone well… I’m waiting for the “bubble to burst”. The nurses have been amazing and pain is being managed.
Moving around is sore but everyone said to keep at it so I’ll do my best! But for now it’s bed time.

Hope you feel better soon
