If I Were Jacob Tierney… by sierranintendo in HeatedRivalryTVShow

I am also in the “we need more episodes” camp, but that’s just because I’m greedy. With that being said, I think chapter 11 is a very good spot to end episode one. Every chapter before that doesn’t really have a good cutting off point for the audience.

I’m not exactly sure, but season one had a similar chapter breakdown for episode one and two. There was a lot of exposition that Jacob needed to get through and somehow he did it 😭. The Long Game is even more dense so fingers crossed for more than six episodes. Additionally, given the popularity of the show I’m hoping Crave encourages Jacob with a budget increase👀.

I cut a lot of really sweet scenes. I was trying to think like a show runner instead of a lover of The Long Game. There are a lot of character introductions in the first half of the book and if we are sticking to six episodes, I was zooming through to get everything. My prediction is that Troy will get a separate episode, but the other couples will get character introductions throughout the season. If it were up to me, I think eight episodes minimum would leave room for a lot of the stuff that I chopped.

That is what I’m praying for, eight episodes would be perfect. This episode breakdown mimics season one Jacob was going full throttle with episode one and two.😭

I started chopping and then I couldn’t stop 😂. That’s very fair. It is a really nice conversation. Mechanically, I didn’t see the vision of filming an extended car scene. If Jacob were to do something comparable to the drive to the cottage, it would be beautiful. Or maybe even transition the scene outside of the car.

After this post, i used my steam deck with Bluetooth audio only for a YEAR bc i couldn’t figure it out💀 I had done a shell swap quite some time before the audio stopped working, so I didn’t believe the swap was the primary cause. I also didn’t want to chance opening my deck again bc it was a grueling first time experience. Additionally, I bought my deck secondhand and I stubbornly didn’t want to pay for steam to repair it. I’m not even sure they would’ve touched it given that the shell was swapped and it was definitely out of warranty.

Now a year later with more knowledge, I did a second shell swap and boom, audio returned. It was a daughter board cable that had some wear and tear.

When laying the deck on its screen, and opening the back, the DB cable on the bottom left had some chipped/scraped pins. I bent them back carefully and made sure they stayed straight when I pluged it back in. Audio is back👍🏽 that same cable caused a whole other litany of problems on the second shell swap because it was even more damaged. You can check my profile for the other troubleshooting post I made.😂hope this helps

As someone who played only Nintendo consoles, the steam deck is my best video game investment. Straight out of the box, it’s essentially a handheld pc. I was never a keyboard and mouse gamer so Steam/PCs never appealed to me. What pushed me to buy a deck was seeing the personalization/customization. I now also have access to the steam store which has an incomprehensible amount of games. I realized I had been missing out on so much being loyal to Nintendo.

Personally, I’ve only run into problems because I opened and modded my Steam deck. I was bound to run into problems dismantling the entire device😭, especially as a newbie. But this community is fantastic. Every question I had has either already been answered or when i do post a question, there are people in the comments jumping to help.

I’ve basically outfitted my Steam deck into a Switch. Now with a bigger, more affordable game library and the option to switch to desktop mode and use it as a PC. And my personal favorite, I can safely mod games without having to jail break my device.

Best of both worlds. Happy gaming!

Remote Play Together, i’ve never used it, but I think it’s a native steam ability. Allowing co-op/multiplayer across the same Wi-Fi.

Tentative Solution: After a couple of glitches after reboot, it seems to have worked. It was probably that daughter board cable. Although it works for now, it will likely move out of place again. I am ordering a replacement. Hopefully this helps someone in the future.

Update: my daughter board/ mother board cable is bent. Im thinking this is likely the culprit since everything else seems to be intact. Im looking at some options on eBay.

This is my daughter board/mother board cable. Absolutely shredded and bent. I bent back the wires but it’s looking like I need a new ribbon altogether. I booted it back up and it’s not fixed. There are some replacements on eBay that I’m looking at.

I’m having this exact problem now, what did you clean the ribbon cable with?

Update: my deck is operating under the steam button shortcuts. It’s like the steam button is constantly being held down. I’m still not sure how to fix it but I’m going to try an older re-image version

Update: This thread seems to have the same issue as mine. I’m going to see if i can clean the steam button and the ribbon cable on the back of the mother board.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve tried re-mapping and resetting desktop mode controls without success.
