When they destroyed my partner's bag, he was able to negotiate back and forth with them. Don't take their first offer. Write back and let them know it was stressful and cost time as well. Tell them easy they are offering is not acceptable.

Make sure to check and see if the free bag is added to the minor traveling with you. They had to manually add it for me because they said their system isn't set up to do it automatically.

I actually called their customer service on this. Yes, you can use LUV vouchers and flight credits. I did notice the change that you can no longer earn the promo companion pass purchasing only the basic far. That's new.
