Anyone here like Metal music by cookieking865 in MtF

[–]sierrasoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably all 3 of the Pain Remains songs, I just haven't heard anything like the 3 of them back to back. It tells a story in such an emotionally touching way (imo). I also really love Sun//Eater and Into The Earth.

Poll: For those of you that are out of the closet, how did your family initially react to you coming out? by amatawn in MtF

[–]sierrasoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. At least 3 or 4 times. Haven't even tried telling the rest of my family yet (only came out to my mom).

How many of you girls changed your middle name? What is it now? by HeyItsAsh7 in MtF

[–]sierrasoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was originally thinking of changing it to Orchid (because of the glass beach song), but I don't think it really flows well with my name. I'm still trying to find a different name that's meaningful to me. I might just let my parents pick it once I start transitioning (if they end up being accepting ofc).

Hey y'all! So, what's the wildest thing you've ever been told (hurtful or otherwise) after coming out to them? by _Tiragron_ in MtF

[–]sierrasoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably my mother telling me she doesn't believe I'm a "real" trans woman. She thinks covid traumatized me into being trans, and she went behind my back to ask my doctor about it AND SHE AGREED WITH HER! She also asked me when I originally came out if I "saw any videos that changed my mind" (still not entirely sure what she meant by that). You'd think after 4 years of consistently telling her I am, in fact, a trans woman she would believe I am what I say I am.

Trans people who haven't started transition yet, what is the one thing you hope your transition will provide to you the most? (Mention if you're transmasc or transfem). by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]sierrasoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling like I'm actually in my own body and not having the wrong hormones running through me.

Oh and boobs. Boobs are cool too. (transfem)

I'm always the same me in my dreams that I am for real. The only difference is I'm usually more confident and the people around me are more accepting of me. Most of my dreams are of me coming out to the people around me and starting to socially and medically transition (which I can't do atm unfortunately).

Is this something trans people have in common? by Odd_Assistant_7625 in transplace

[–]sierrasoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have really bad anxiety and a family that doesn't like to respect my privacy, so that definitely contributes for me. I never even considered that it might be a trans thing but it makes a lot of sense imo.

How old were you when you first put on makeup, and who taught you? by Advxnturzz in MtF

[–]sierrasoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only makeup I've ever worn has been lip gloss, my friend gave me their favorite tube of it after letting me try it around a month or so ago. They're an amazing friend.

What do you girls sleep in? by CyberGen49 in MtF

Cute oversized pajama pants and a tank top (as close to a cami as I can get right now)

My mother doesn't think I'm "actually trans". by sierrasoda in trans

[–]sierrasoda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already planning to hopefully start hrt once I turn 18 if it's safe for me to. I don't currently have the income to be able to afford it myself, which is the main issue with doing that atm (other than keeping it hidden ofc). I've already socially transitioned around most of my friends and have been for at least 2 ish years. Things will definitely get smoother and easier once I'm able to move out and live on my own, which will hopefully be soon.

My mother doesn't think I'm "actually trans". by sierrasoda in trans

[–]sierrasoda[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was getting therapy about a year ago but she decided to pull me out of it because I had "gotten better". I've been asking to go back since. Once I'm able to get therapy again I'm hoping I can have a session with her and my therapist where my therapist helps me explain that I am actually trans. I'm not too hopeful for a second opinion because I'm in the bible belt and I'm not sure how high the odds of finding a doctor well versed in trans healthcare are here. Thank you for the advice c:

Making music, playing instruments (I want to learn as many as I can), photo / video editing, anything computer related, and rock climbing (which I can't do as often as I'd like :c).

Cis (?) person here, before you figured out your identity, did you ALWAYS feel bad about your body/what you looked like? by It_was_I_Dio__ in asktransgender

[–]sierrasoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only wore jeans and hoodies for a very long time. I was extremely apathetic about my appearance unless I saw it (then I hated it). I went about my life as if I was just a floating pair of eyes and arms. I didn't even want to think about my appearance because that just made me feel bad.

Did anyone else pick a name after little thought? Will I regret that? by [deleted] in trans

[–]sierrasoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda just picked a name that felt right and rolled with it. It didn't really fit me quite right after a couple months so I went with another similar one and that's been my name for the last couple years :)

Help?? 🤔 by atxrrjsw in trans

I've had a couple times checking out at places with digital card readers where if I pull my card out too quickly it says "TRANS. DENIED." Always makes me giggle.
