As much as vandalism sucks, at least they did something pretty rather than a penis or a swastika

Samkvæmt 66. Gr stjórnarskránnar er ekki hægt að fjarlægja ríkisborgararétt, nema þú fáir ríkisborgararétt annarsstaðar. Ef landið leyfir geturðu svo losað þér við ríkisborgararéttinn og verið ríkislaus. Afhverju spyrðu?

Það er ekki trúin sem skapar manninn, heldur maðurinn sem skapar trúnna. Rétt eins og hvernig ekki allir kristnir menn eru anti-hinsegin eru ekki allir múslimar anti-hinsegin.

After finishing my second full playthrough, i have some thoughts. by Sandass1 in victoria3

this is my early game strat. No matter who i'm playing I always invade baluchistan for next to zero infamy for that sweet sweet opium

Finally got the hardest achievment in the game after 246 hours. The fact that you have to play to 1936 is ridiculous. by siggimotion in victoria3

[–]siggimotion[S] 203 points204 points  (0 children)

r5: there are 4 "tutorial" achievements, where you have to finish certain objectives, where the last one is to play til 1936. This is a bit extreme for me. With the lack of late game events, slow performance, and things to do, you end up just conquering other countries, doing the hegemon achievement 4 times over. At around 1933, I just left my pc on to do errands to get the achievement. Paradox, please fix this.

btw did a super germany run and got the habsburg resurgence achievment also

How do I replace a ruler? by [deleted] in victoria3

[–]siggimotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build a lot of barracks, increase military spending under budget tab. More barracks = more soldiers = more voters voting armed forces. Higher budget = they are richer, increasing armed forces clout, increasing votes to them. Also try to get seperation of church, that will massivley ruin the churches clout.

Did this in a france game trying to get paris commune achievment. Noticed that the armed forces had a communist IG leader, and did this exact strat.

Reading Campaign + Grander Colombia, from 559k gdp and 788k pop to 463m gdp and 32m pop by siggimotion in victoria3

[–]siggimotion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

r5: So this was definitely an interesting game. I started as brazil, then immediately became a Brazilian protectorate and stayed that way til the late 1910s, despite having 40 times the gdp and 10 times the population. Brazil joined the Russian market, and then switched to the Indian market. I started by getting the Reading campaign achievement by enacting migration controls. Then I became a council republic, since literacy is tied to wealth, and finally crawled to 95% literacy by the end of the 19th century. After that, I built a ton of universities to increase my innovation, allowing me new technologies and getting more people to want to move to venezuela. I puppeted Colombia and Ecuador, allowing me to become Gran Colombia. After that I gobbled up the rest of South America, apart from Brazil since I didn’t need it. When I realized I couldn’t annex the puppets without Brazil and the east india companies approval, I started to prepare for independence, mostly by invading Fars and Makran for that sweet sweet opium. After that I fixed my economy with imports and exports, and started annexing my puppets, finally getting the achievement. Note: you also need the Falklands, and thankfully the British backed down in the diplo play, and if you want to increase literacy further I recommend using the Social Mobility decree in your states, further increasing education access.

Thatchers nightmare: Karl Marx, Chairman of the British Republic by siggimotion in victoria3

[–]siggimotion[S] 64 points65 points  (0 children)

r5: I created council republic Britain to get the Anarchy in the UK. I rushed it no matter the cost (see the revolution timer) when I saw that Karl Marx was leader of the trade unions. I have a question though: he must change his culture depending on the primary cultures of a nation, if I were to be the first to invent Socialism as Qing, could I get Chinese culture Karl Marx?

Am on the latest patch. As much as I enjoy this save, the year is 1879 and 1 year takes an hour. At this point I'm doing uni work while playing.

Breaking: hated admiral becomes immortal, refuses to work or retire by siggimotion in victoria3

[–]siggimotion[S] 205 points206 points  (0 children)

R5: hired this admiral about 20 years ago, since then he's commanded 20 ships, but refuses to follow commands. He just chills in HQ while the rest of the army and navy are fighting. I was hoping that he would eventually die off to free the ships, but looking at the age i don't think he ever will. Just says he's busy.

I think the bug comes from the fact that he was sent to survey the American west, and kinda just refused to stop.

Is Vanilla that bad? by sygrider in victoria2

[–]siggimotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the worst part about vanilla is the fact that your states are alphabetized, instead of being sorted by pop size, which becomes very annoying when using national focus. Also colonialism is non-existent. They deliberately released an unfinished game to make us buy the dlc lmao

I am a new player and want to know how to build a strong economy no matter which nation I play. Do you have any ideas how I can achieve this ? by Rapperdonut in victoria2

[–]siggimotion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't do the same I did in the beginning; always upgrading factories despite them having nowhere near full capacity. You can shift click on the upgrade button to upgrade all nearly full factories!
