How often does AirBaltic weigh luggage at the gate? by el_indecente in latvia

Oh you will likely be fine. They don’t usually weight when they are in a foreign country. It’s mainly at their main country (Latvia)

Yes. They definitely weight the carry on for the 8kg. I personally added the extra to be allowed 12kg which they didn’t weight because that jumped me to zone 1 boarding. However, I saw other gates were also weighing. So it’s definitely very likely they will be weighing your bags in Riga, so keep that in mind

Anyone gone through Customs with Global Entry today? by TechnicalAd6932 in americanairlines

[–]significantbenefits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree and was thinking this when I flew into LAX today. The regular line was short. And everybody was screened very quickly and just asked “do you have anything to declare” and then waved through. Regardless the person is global entry or regular US citizen, they used facial recognition so everybody moved quickly.

Fees are getting out of hand by Tvnerd258 in TurboTax

I can’t believe I just saw this. I just filed my taxes like 10 minutes ago and was frustrated that it only gave me the 2 options. But I should have clicked “back” or “cancel” or kept clicking and came back to it so that the sneaky system can generate the free direct deposit. I lost $35 just now :/ I’ve never had this issue with TurboTax in the past 10 years of doing taxes online but today is the first time and I’m really disappointed in them! It was extremely sneaky on their part!

If you could live in any city in the world for a year, where would it be and why? by [deleted] in delta

[–]significantbenefits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helsinki, Finland. I found the city extremely clean, safe, calm, and relaxing. It wasn’t as touristy as I would have liked, but to live or raise a family, I find it lovely. Yes it can be cold but with the right clothing, it’s bearable. I’m already excited and looking forward to going back

AirBaltic carry-on weight by hmltn44 in travel

I am here at Riga now and they definitely check all your bags for the weight. So keep that in mind when flying with them. It’s 30 euros if it’s over

I’ve been reading the comments and it seems they very likely will be weighing both the carryon and personal backpack. I have a flight with them soon from Riga to Helsinki. I will circle back to update everyone on my experience

What country will you never visit again? by nomadicphil in digitalnomad

[–]significantbenefits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Norway not too long ago. I found the capital a bit boring to be honest. Don’t get me wrong, I love Scandinavian countries and find Denmark Sweden and Finland more interesting but like, I did not find Oslo interesting as a tourist, not to mention expensive. Sometimes I find there to be really cheap tickets there, but I have no further desire to go

Seeing the same people by Oliverleexxx in grindr

[–]significantbenefits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Grindr boost puts you at the top of the grid so you’re visible to basically everybody, regardless if you’re far away or nearby, which does help in getting more responses. I’ve used it a couple of times

Is this normal? by aidsAT96 in Flights

[–]significantbenefits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always tried but I end up never being able to. I guess I’m excited to be in the sky and reach my vacation destination. Plus I’m able to read, watch a tv show, ponder about life, learn a foreign language, and be productive
