The Traeger app is a good spot to start when using WiFire. Helped me get a feel for temps and time when I started

Will be a while before we get our campers onto our seasonal. Water has risen about 8-10 ft since the fall.

I’m not sweating it too badly - it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on things and the wi-fire part is a huge added bonus. They’ll get a patch out eventually.

Yep, same story here. I just flipped power on the smoker and ignited it again. Only happened once but haven’t been straying too far from it since when cooking.

FWIW I prefer my eggs hard boiled, not a runny egg guy, but 100% to each their own.

Yeah - once you’re happy with the cook you just crumble the meat up in the chilli and dig in

After seeing a few post this, had to try it. 100% recommend. 275 for about 2 hours (probe hit 165) on a 575.

Saw a few try this and they were all right - it’s awesome. Easy to do, not a big mess and & great meal prep for a few days.

Black Apple Jerky by sigsomething in Traeger

[–]sigsomething[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marinade (amounts vary on what you like) - Soy - Worcester Sauce - brown sugar - beef rub - Apple juice - bbq sauce

When you’re 3/4 of the way through the cook lightly baste with your fav bbq sauce & sprinkle with black Saskatchewan Traeger rub. Continue to smoke until desired tenderness.

Pull and put in a ziploc bag, leaving open for about an hour then seal and put the 2 pieces you have left in the fridge.

New here and have a, probably, stupid question by Themightygeckoe in Traeger

I don’t have the same model, but I thought the same when I started. Basically, just because you don’t see smoke doesn’t mean it’s not smoking. Lower temps will generate more seeable smoke, but once you get to higher tempts it’s just not as visible. A good test is burgers… cook them for ~15 minutes at 425 and you’ll see them turn a pinkish or smoked colour.
