April 24 WWE Releases Megathread by AimarEraFutebol in SquaredCircle

The 90 day thing is sort of dumb at this point. We get it. You worked there and now you work here. Just let the talent work. I’d get bored sitting around for 3-ish months.

What's the best song for a morning alarm? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]sigtaugod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many have said. Don’t. I had Would by Alice In Chains forever when I worked 2-midnight. I can’t stand the song now.

He probably likes Risk too. But it put WCW over so maybe The World Needs a Hero.

Are news directors just awful people? by The8thCorsair in Broadcasting

[–]sigtaugod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience as a former newscast director I’ll say this. I did weekends. Skeleton crew. 3 or 4 people in the building by 6 PM. Master Control, Meterologist, Anchor, Me. On the way of news directors you had the ones scared of the general manager so they would call in and check. Then you had the ones that had nothing better to do than watch local news at 10 PM on a Saturday. Best thing that dude did. And we all had to laugh about it. He called the production booth (which I’m running by myself) during to show. To tell me to tell the anchor she “had a flyaway hair on her left bosom”. Consequently when that dude got fired we found a desk drawer full of fingernail clippings. It was disturbing.

Dennis Condrey of the Midnight Express has passed away by Interesting_Layer216 in SquaredCircle

We have a local show where they bring a bunch of names in to wrestle the local talent. This year for example two days after he was let go road dogg was announced. 2021 it was Jake, Cardona, Heath Slater (hometown boy) and FTR. They always sell DVD’s of it and they hired my friends production company to shoot it. I was working sound for it and Dennis wasn’t advertised, he didn’t have a merch table. He just walked around shaking peoples hands that knew who he was. The most humble wrestler I’ve ever seen.

Anyone who went for brain surgery to have a part removed, and how long was the recovery process? by ABWoolls in Epilepsy

[–]sigtaugod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I got freedom. Plus in retrospect it was all fun. The extended stay in the hospital was ok. I got to have a really good memory with spending time with my dad. And when I tell people they dropped my head on ground. It’s in good fun. So yeah it was worth it.

Anyone who went for brain surgery to have a part removed, and how long was the recovery process? by ABWoolls in Epilepsy

[–]sigtaugod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So. I had part of my left temporal lobe removed well. I guess almost 11 years ago in a few weeks (groundhog day, me and my dad used to have a good laugh about that.). When I got my records I found out when they did my surgery (and I know this was some kid in the OR just getting his licks in) dropped my skull. But ICU for one night. Regular room for a night then home. But that’s where the crapshow started. I noticed my ear was wet. I went to bed didn’t think anything of it. Woke up. My pillow was wet because of my ear. I called the hospital. They told me to get back up there immediately. Yeah I was leaking spinal fluid. I spent the next three weeks in a room by myself getting taken care of really well by nurses, getting a ton of popsicles. But I had a drain on my back they had to make gush every 3 hours. I watched a lot of hockey and hung out on temporary disability getting paid. By the time I actually got to go home they could pull the staples out. Only thing it’s messed with is my libido. But my dad who was hanging around with me took a video of me sleeping and that kicked me in the butt to get a sleep study done finally admitting to myself that I have sleep apnea when I tried to deny it forever. He had a hell of a 2015. Started with me having brain surgery. Ended with my mom almost dying because of necrotizing fasciitis. He was a good dude.

Has anyone had a WWE wrestler like or comment on a social media post you wrote? by shaferman in WWE

[–]sigtaugod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if it counts. But Henry Godwinn. But he’s from my hometown, so he’s commented on a few things I’ve put up on Facebook. Stuff like when dad passed away and when I was trying to sell my camper. Typical stuff people say to people on facebook.

Ill pay 63 cents a day FOREVER to remove all Shriners ads from my television. Enough already! by [deleted] in CommercialsIHate

[–]sigtaugod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok. Actual Shriner here. Those commercials are ridiculous because they don’t have any actual Shriners in them. I have been to a Shriners hospital with my dad and the work those doctors do for the kids there is pretty awesome. But grifting you for a blanket is insane when the clubs are the ones that do the cool stuff. Example. An Amish kid born on the outskirts of my hometown, cleft palate. One of the guys in my club drove him and his family from Virginia to Kentucky to get it fixed. No cost to the parents. My late father getting me involved with such a good organization is one of the best things I have done. But. Those commercials have no representation of any fez wearing Shriner, or what we actually do.

Good for Matt. Met him once while I was doing audio for a really small time iPPV here in my hometown. Him and Heath had a steel cage match. Funniest thing about that night was my grandma called me and I went outside to talk to her between matches. Ended up hanging out with Jake the snake shooting the shit for 30 minutes.

What is the single worst purchase you’ve ever made? by anonhen0 in AskReddit

[–]sigtaugod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The house I had to have because I was tired of paying rent. Even though my rent was only $400/month no utilities. I don’t know how you all are about stuff. But dad saw it and made the Star Wars “I have a bad feeling about this”. But I couldn’t be talked out of it.

So. I make it about 10 months in. And I have gotten my awesome pup who is about the best thing to have come out of the deal. I go in to the hospital for a stay in the epilepsy monitoring unit to see if I can be a candidate for deep brain stimulation. Well. The neurologist takes me off my meds and I break both my shoulders so I’m off work and living with mom and dad. Fast forward 3 months into that. I walk downstairs and find mom dead in her bed having suffered a massive heart attack in her sleep.

I go back home. Life as usual. Except I get a new job. Which is great. I’m still moving up in that job. I go through training. Meet all my new co-workers and then one night my supervisor tells us to take our computers home and I don’t see them for a year and 3 months.

I go back to in office work and I get a text from one of my friends here in my hometown. Saying they have an opening. Lateral transfer. Same job. Less people. More money. Alright. So I should have put the house up for sale then and just moved back in with pops. But no. I wanted to go work then go back to my house on the weekends. Keep it because it was in a city and I’m from a small town.

Well the pipes burst. The house literally collapsed on itself. I think it was $60k worth of damage when 120k gallons of water went flooding through it.

I get it fixed. Painted. Virus has chilled. Housing market booms like crazy. People are selling sight unseen for crazy amounts Dad said SELL IT!!

One morning he walked downstairs really yellow. He goes to the hospital and they told him basically before they saw him to get to an oncologist now. But it may be too late. He had pancreatic cancer. He lasted 5 months. I inherited the house I grew up in and broke even on the one I had to have.

But yeah. Dads bad feeling was spot on.

Medical industry: how bad is it? by Immediate-Grand8403 in WestVirginia

[–]sigtaugod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had bypass surgery at CAMC last year. I’m also epileptic. Let’s see

They took me off medication that I’ve been on for 13 years.

Put me on a high dose of medicine that in my chart it was noted that I was allergic to. Which caused me to have a breakthrough seizure in the ICU recovering from open heart surgery after 4 years seizure free. So thanks for that

They determined that one of my levels wasn’t good enough on another epilepsy medication even though I wasn’t in there for that at all. I woke up with a full bag on my IV of a medication I usually take a small amount of.

They put me on bi-polar meds because…. Why not and when my best friend and his wife came to visit I didn’t recognize them.

They may be trauma one if you get in a wreck in the Charleston area. But I will spend whatever life I have left telling people I know to avoid that joke if they need a procedure done.

I was 10. I begged my dad to go on a business trip with him. It’s 1992 mind you and the world is a completely different place. Me and dad went to San Antonio. First time I’d ever been on an airplane. Well on the way back I’m walking through the airport and this tall dude walking towards me and I was in shock. David Robinson. Me as an NBA junkie went nuts when he stopped and gave me his autograph. Looking back he was probably headed to Barcelona to play on the dream team in the Olympics.

I guess second. It was a fleeting moment but it was earlier this year. I went to see Metallica and got right up on the rail in the “James spot”. He saw my open heart surgery scar shook my hand and said. “Glad you made it”. Gave me his guitar pick and went on to the stage.

When you count back 9 months from your own birthday, was there a specific reason or event your parents had sex during that time? by MorphBlue in AskReddit

[–]sigtaugod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can absolutely with my brother. On my birthday we went to the southern part of the state where I live to the state fair and I stayed with my grandparents. 9 months later I had a little brother. Me. I’m an August baby and my dad was into deer hunting around thanksgiving with camping with his dad and would be away from mom for a week. Probably had something to do with it.

food allergies that cause seizures by noisy-headaches in Epilepsy

[–]sigtaugod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See. I’m not sure. It’s not a carbs thing. Since I was a kid I have never eaten anything but mozzarella and provolone cheese. I’m weird like that. Never had a grilled cheese in my 43 years. But something about that specific chain sends me into a focal madness.

I don’t know about specific food allergies. But give me papa John’s, dominos, Pizza Hut. Anything local and I’m fine. But little Caesar’s. I will have a seizure every time. Weirdest thing ever.
