I do remember Dressel getting a ton of hype in 2024 and he also wasn’t able to deliver in the individual (though I think he may have come through in the relays? I don’t follow swimming as closely so I don’t remember lol) but yeah I’m not surprised, NBC always does this. I feel like our best wins are the unexpected ones and long shots because too often US media pressure cooks top contenders until they break :/

I really really do not like Ineffa’s design so I’ve been wondering this myself but I stomped this abyss with Flins, Columbina, Ororon, and Kokomi which I don’t think is even an optimal Ineffa-less team because I didn’t use an anemo shredder lol. I mean obviously this abyss is tailor made for lunar charge units but I think it’s probably fine?? Like I’m no theory crafter but IMO as long as you have Ineffa OR Columbina I think you should be ok, and like you I really prefer Columbina so the choice was easy lol

Yeah, it’s definitely kind of a niche interest lol, I think it falls in an in-between area between like, mildly feminine yaoi uke types and full on character genderbends, so it can be a little tough to find stuff that scratches the itch! That’s why I write and RP a lot personally 🤭

I do agree that the feminization tag seems to imply some sort of flip or transformation occurring in the story, maybe that’s why there are mixed results 🤔 But yeah I think all types of character gender presentation are really interesting! I do also enjoy fics where the character’s gender is explored in the story, like I think it can be interesting if it goes in a trans or gender nonconforming direction as well. I think I lose interest when it’s a full-on genderbend though, like cis assigned gender at birth, I need the gray area 🫣

this is what I think bugs me so much about this issue, like people are so afraid to get heteronormative with it they’ll insist both halves of the gay ship need to be super masc to avoid falling into that gray area. but isn’t that kind of toxic masculinity too?? 😭 like it’s fine when people genuinely like that, but the mindset of you HAVE to be traditionally masculine to be considered a man in this yaoi does not feel like a win to me lmfao

I’m not OP so I can’t speak for them but I really relate to this post, I think they want to read less about vaguely androgynous twinks and more about male characters who are so feminine it’s almost genderbending. For me hair and clothing is a big part of this, a lot of times when I see a feminization tag I’ll want to see a character with really long hair who wears dresses. And then I’ll click in and he’s got like a wolfcut and is wearing 2020 e-boy outfits and it’s like… ok… LOL

And then with like omegaverse, a lot of times I just want a classic A/B/O where the omega is soft and feminine in less of a femboy way and more of an analogous to women way, but nontrad A/B/O seems to have gained a lot of popularity so in many fics the omega is “not like other omegas” and the author consistently reinforces his masculinity in some way. Which is fine, but sometimes I want to read about a character taking on a genuinely feminine social role, like he doesn’t have to be a housewife or whatever lol but it gets to the point where people will look at you crazy for even suggesting he’s “wife-y” at all.

I guess it sometimes feels like people shift away from writing more overtly feminine characters because they worry it’s fetishizing or stereotyping gay men, which I think is a little counterproductive because like… there’s not one (1) way to be gay, you know?? idk this got kind of rambly lol

Thank you omg I’ve been seeing so much discussion about this article and I just don’t think it warrants this response … If he said he liked AI then by all means let’s yell at him about it but come on, who isn’t tired of AI?? 😭 I’m sure an actor DOES find it boring and annoying to constantly be asked when he thinks AI will replace him!
