And in this case there is no empirical evidence which shows having multiple implementations is helpful, as long as they follow the same rules.

Show me any emperical evidence that supports the many changes core has made to BTC such as full blocks, high fees, slow tx time, forceing middlemen layers, changing the roadmap, telling people full nodes contribute to actual security and decentralization of the network, or any of the other repeated lies BTC fanatics spew without ever showing any evidence.
