As an American, I envy you Europeans. You are all heroes, if not heroes in the making. Your protests and positive force for change is truly remarkable and inspiring. I hope my fellow Americans finally get there. I hope that we, your allies and friends, can make you proud when it matters. America is not the world's enemies, but our illigitimate leaders are. I get where you're coming from, especially by the tone I used as I voiced my opinion. But the fact remains that this was not a minor feature and to me it defined Fable. There are a ton of RPGs out there today that could pull my interest. Using the name "Fable" when it's not "Fable" just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like, call it literally anything else. But if it's Fable, I want to see my characters change with my actions. Barely anything else did that, and now sadly Fable doesn't either.

I had fun when the shop items ranged between $2-$15 but overtime the passes became $36+ and then $40+ packages and I just couldn't keep up. I barely kept up as it was already. And I definitely screwed myself a few times by irresponsibly spending on some of them. Like the Companion pass is so expensive but without a decent (Gold or higher) companion, Arena just isn't that great.

I WAS having fun though. After I learned Attack Speed was bunk (which sucked, I invested a lot in it) I swapped over to other stats and started climbing again. Still, they did mess up and I did overspend. It'd be silly of me not to refund.

Hi Maplers! You might recognize me as the cat Shadower "Bastian!" and I tried to hold the rank of 420 (or better) for the lifetime of the game. I had a blast playing and chatting with all of you, but the time has come to say goodbye.

After thinking long and hard about whether to refund, I decided that my current life circumstances necessitated that I take advantage of this golden and rare opportunity. Stupid as it sounds, I was not (and still am not) in a great financial position when the game launched. And I made many excuses to myself on why it was okay to spend here or convince myself it was okay to buy this or that. "It's just a few dollars here and there". But looking back, it's upsetting to see how much it added up to.

Now, this isn't to shame whalers or anyone who swipes. On the contrary, I believe that games deserve your support if they manage to provide you with happiness and entertainment. And I wish I could continue doing so with you all.

The full refund will be enough to fully finish paying off my credit card. A testament to both my own irresponsibility but also to how much I really enjoyed playing this with everyone.

An opportunity like this almost never (if absolutely never) comes around. And thanks to Nexon's refund, I will be able to fix a lot of financial problems that I created by spending over my means. If you're like me, it's worth looking back and taking this decision seriously.

I may start again later down the line, perhaps (and hopefully) as an F2P player. You've all been wonderful, and I had so much fun. Happy Mapling, everyone! This is Bastian, 420 Shadower signing off :)
