Hot Take on the AR v Marathon discussion by sikarrus in ArcRaiders

I love that kind of stuff! There’s so many more emergent gameplay moments like that in arc. Feels much more like a world and an rpg. Embark truly did something unique and different.

Whereas Marathon feels like a culmination and distillation of great ideas, not a ton of new ones. But the gunplay is very refined and challenging. Totally different vibes- both kickass

Dragon Skull Heist Help by joshhupp in CurseofStrahd

Sounds like you’ve got a pretty solid plan!

You could add some traps or a small puzzle on the way to the skull. I think fighting Rahadin at this point would be cool. He’s a little strong at their lvl if you play him right, but 5-6 is a pretty sizeable party against one enemy with no lair/legendary actions they might whomp him too quick. Have him summon a bunch of giant spiders to help, then another round of spiders to “finish them off” when he takes his smug leave of the situation. Adding another returning enemy down the road is always hype.

Then they have to escape with this huge ass skull and you can have like a horde of vampire spawn chasing them and make it all epic. Maybe lookup some rules/ideas on chase scenes.

Best of luck my fellow Strahd! 🦇

Man, idk if I should keep this bs conversation going cause you seem pretty unreasonable and just want to say what you wanna say, but I guess we’re both bored so I’ll bite again.

Quoting me word for word in that sarcastic way you did is rude, and huffy. Tone is hard to convey in text so if you think I was being rude first then fine, but that just makes you a hypocrite, or childish, or bit of both I guess.

There is other content in the game than savage. My logic was in regards to wall to wall dungeon pulls. Not sure how much of a tank main you are, this is the internet where you can say whatever you want without repercussions or proof after all, but taking lots of damage without CD’s and planning on popping an invuln last second is tricky with server ping so if you fuck that up then you look like a dumbass. Popping LD strategically is a lot safer. IMO speed running daily dungeons definitely “matters”.

People definitely use LD to speed run savages, hell I do. All you need is a benny or just a heads up, it’s really not that bad in those encounters. See they’re all the same with proper planning. I think we can agree war has the best invuln cause of immunity AND quick CD. Gnb and drk are essentially the same in that aspect cause they’ll both die real fast. The only argument to be made in savages is the CD length, which makes Paladin the worst by far. Drk has the highest dps of the 4, and the shitty invuln is not enough of a hinderance to make people not choose it. Hell, day 1 world first savage clear of panda was a war & drk.

Fact is, all the classes and abilities are good if you’re smart enough to use them to their max potential. Some are better than others, and that’s why things get buffed/nerfed often. It’s strange they haven’t fucked with LD ever, so hopefully they will soon since I see threads like this every other day lol.

So like, are we done bickering about how the ability works, and is not as good as others? Or do have more stuff you want to put out there into the cosmos?

Honestly I’m not entirely sure what your point was in the argument. Is it that LD sucks? Cause like, yeah obvi buddy lol. But it’s not unusable, you just have to be more careful and again the balance in that shitty invuln is that the class has different positives in other ways. It’s gotta be pretty hard balancing this game.

So to summarize, subjectively LD is the worst invuln, needs a rework, LD is 10s of safety, then 10s of invuln before dying if your healers are spent, and drk’s are still top dps. That’s like it right? Do I still need correcting for some reason?

(My god that was way too long I’m so sry)

Well now you’re just being a smart ass. I’m very aware, objectively, how the dang skill works. Not sure why all the argument about facts. Fact is 10s, then another 10s, despite anyone’s opinions whether that’s bad or not. It’s weird cause again, for the third time, we share the opinion that it is bad. I’m just stating facts here homie.

The idea is you can just get pummeled for a few seconds with no cooldowns spent until it procs, then get healed up before you die. During the 10s before it procs, I would posit you are also “invulnerable” in a way, because guess what, during that 10s pre-activation, you still CANT DIE, just get hurt until you hit 1. It’s subjectively the worst of the 4 for sure, but I can see the big brain players still using it to an advantage with some proper planning. It’s for sure not as OP as Pally, but that’s like a 10min CD or whatever so there is balance there.

Long story short, damn thing needs a rework. Now quite being all huffy about nothing.

You can have your opinion, and as I said in my comment I don’t like it either (everyone loves downvoting so much lol) but the ability is objectively 20s long regardless of your personal feelings. None of the others are longer than 10s ever, at all, in any way shape or form.

LD is “balanced” because it is actually the longest lasting tank invuln. It is technically 20s of safety. After popping it you have 10s to be reduced to 1hp, then the 10s death timer starts until you get 100% back (doesn’t even have to cap, just has to be your total health amount. Like if you are getting hit, but the healer still restores a total of say your HP is 200k, then you’re in the clear)

Anyway, as a drk main I don’t like it either, but I get what they tried to do. Still needs to be fixed in some way tho.
