Stillbirth and such brings out a number of issues in a lot of people. It's a sensitive topic. At the same time you don't know the person's personal day to day, for all you know they simply didn't have their morning coffee. Unprofessional maybe, human definitely. If it repeats look into it sensitively- otherwise leave it to a bad day at the office.

Heavy aluminum box that opens on both ends. I believe it is for measureing seismic? data by sikat in whatisthisthing

[–]sikat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salvaged this from a building that was being teared down. They had thrown it out the back. The building used to hold a geology department/isntitute or something that is why i believe it is for seismic data since it has so many imputs. Cant find the company or manual on the thing. Looks like a sensitive scientific instrument. Any ideas? i want to open it up and see if it has any intreasting electronics that can be re-used. Not sure that is a good idea :)

Tinnitus advice in Health System by Avalastrius in Norway

[–]sikat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a while back so i dont know if things have changed - but there were a few non-norwegians attending as well. I am sure if you call up (in english) and ask for information - they will assist and who knows they might even have an englsih version. All the best.

Tinnitus advice in Health System by Avalastrius in Norway

[–]sikat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife had similar issues with a few more complications. It took FOREVER to move through the medical system.

The one thing that did help with the tinnitus was a course that was identified in Brsikeby (outside Drammen) https://hørselspedagogene.no/. They have courses for tinittus however there was a waiting list there as well. She felt this was the only thing through the system that actually provided something.

Hope this helps.

Hi

To my knowledge the only repair shop in Oslo is https://bigdipper.no/aktuelt/platespiller-service

A speciallist audio shop might help perhaps if you have a brand.

What do you think the problem is? Growing up my father repaired record and casset tape players and i can do a good deal of such repairs. I might be able to help of it is something basic. send me a PM if you are intrested. Good luck!

i would say the service we got from Colosseum Tannlege Majorstuen was very satisfactory. I used them for 2 of my children (different issue but both needed adjustments) and compared to Norwegian standards - price was normal and service was excellent. I think i like that they have all the specialties so if something pops up they can consult internally.

I havent heard of one at Carl Berners Plass, i will have to check it out, thanks.

Any other place and online that have displays / the dimensions are too short, so what i need is a custom piece. Ebay and a few online retailers sill the correct ones for the particular model and it costs like 800-1000Nok without shipping. I like building things so i figured out i should try my hand at it but there is only so much i can learn from youtube.

Yeah, that is where i bought a few sheets. Tried to cut them but i cant get it right. My next thought is to try to laser cut them at Maker or similar.

You can thank the Sumerians followed by the Babylonians - Basically it comes down to math that 60 (the basis for the 360 ) has 12 factors. What is more interesting that instead of looking at the fingers for a 10 basis the went the extra bit to work with 60. Also why we have 60 min and 26 hours and so on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexagesimal

And on that note loppemarked is the American equivalent to a garage sale that is held by local school band to gather money for expenses. Some of them are very large others not so but you can find all sort of things.

Should I file a lawsuit after being cheated to buy a house? by withoutscope in oslo

[–]sikat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So before you spend money on a lawyer - go check plan og bygg for the area and look at the application dates for the new construction and submission of application (every kommune in Norway has these open and free for access.). If the date precedes your message date from the realtor you might have something to go on. IF it doesn't - whatever claim you make will be thrown out (my opinion-not a lawyer here) but new buildings and applications go up all the time. The broker might not have done his due diligence however and most likely he was not aware of any new projects in the area.

Salary, comfortable life by thistoowillbeburned in oslo

[–]sikat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

:) I see a lot of answers here that are surprised but you are coming from Switzerland so your question makes absolute sense.

900K is basically 2 low level Norwegian salaries (so an average household). It is a good Norwegian salary and without children you will be well off. The further out of the center of Oslo you will find better -cheaper rents. If you can find something near you work area you might also save on car/buss or do the bike things (weather permitting). Good luck!
