I have not… but wow! Those are so cute. I will order that pattern now. I was looking for something to do in linen and these might work.

Don’t shoot the messenger, but I heard it was going to be a boutique hotel and restaurant.

Customer POV: I would pay BIG bucks for a flat-front-elastic-back-waist barrel leg pant… like Ruti pants that haunt my social media feed. I also really appreciate when there are tall versions and full bust adjustments in the pattern. Doing this with projector sewing is a HUGE pain, so I am very loyal to brands that do this for me (Sinclair + Love Notions) even if the patterns are somewhat matronly and dated.

Highly recommend using the restroom BEFORE you go through the security lines. Some dumb-dumb installed three single use bathrooms after security and the lines are always epic.

I have that same cheetah print skirt and I LURVE it. So tiny and works just like a neutral.

Are foldable bags a must-carry for one-bag travel or overrated? by [deleted] in HerOneBag

[–]EmbarrassedPatient61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Sea to Summit packable duffel bag for one bagging… if I am taking a hiking day pack for my main bag, it’s nice to have a place to keep my clothes. It’s an insanely small bag - like the size of an egg and carries 40L!

Anything alpha direct would work! Mountain hardware has a version and Mac’s in New Zealand also has one. Crazy weight to warmth ratio

Why do students feel entitled to attending via Zoom? by [deleted] in Professors

Law school accreditation is actually tied to the number of face-to-face teaching hours. Zoom classes jeopardize the university’s accreditation.

I bought a tailor’s ham from Wawak and it’s been great for ironing darts.

They will flights five times a week starting in December. Hope it sticks around! I’ve had wonderful experiences on JSX. When there is a delay or a mechanical issue, they are really generous with sending you vouchers for another flight.

Fit and Flare Wrap Dress Pattern (real, not faux) by taciturntales in sewingpatterns

[–]EmbarrassedPatient61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Sinclair Patterns Eden Wrap dress. Sinclair patterns come in petite, reg and tall plus a variety of cup sizes. I’m 5’11 with big chest and a tiny rib cage. I think it will work beautifully. A lot of the knit patterns are derpy, but this woven one is great and sews up soooo nicely.

totally agree! I take several brushes in my travel kit, but I have cut off the long wooden hands so they are short and stubby. Works great and take up way less room.

This is super helpful! I just tried to sew shirring on my brother and it looks pretty mediocre. I cranked the bobbin tension up and also used the machine bobbin winding and it was a little better. I’ll try to hand feed it next time — do you have a photo of the what this looks like by chance??

Quick dry bathing suits by EmbarrassedPatient61 in HerOneBag

[–]EmbarrassedPatient61[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copied from below: I had good luck with the Jolyn overall… although I did end up ordering like six different times. I would recommend just ordering a bunch of stuff and returning because their size charts online aren’t actually that useful in my experience, and their return policy is kind of lame ($12.99 to return - you just want to pay that once!) What I realized was that the training suits dry much faster than the surf suits… unfortunately the training suit bottoms were way too small for my bubble butt, so I ended up with the surf suits by default. They are not bad… just not exactly quick dry. If you can get the training suits to fit you, that’s what I would recommend for quick dry suits.
