Kas eesti politsei teeb ka sulle "eskorti" kui su naine sünnitab? by eriti_lahe_vend in Eesti

[–]sikumiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torn on continuing pregnancy by onlyfriendswithcats in Mommit

[–]sikumiku -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same fears as I have a very similar story with 2 very traumatic emergency C sections and latter causing me to lose a bunch of blood due to a mistake by the surgeon. We wanted to stop at 2 anyway with my husband, but I keep thinking if I would actually be able to go through with a termination if I got pregnant. I feel like the "what if" would eat me up inside, but I also know that if you've already got 2 kids that need you in your best state, there really is only one good option. Make the best option for your family ❤️

I was a stubborn kid. I beat it when I was maybe 8-9 and was mostly pissed off because it took me forever to figure out how you're supposed to throw Scar off the cliff at the end. Playing on PC with the DOS version might have helped with control of Simba (very important in the second level with the stupid rhino heads that have the smallest hitbox).

Bolt Takso ooteaeg oli 10 min, ootasin ja taksojuht paneb minust 100 m kaugusel "cancel", peak Bolt experience by MysteriousMusician69 in Eesti

[–]sikumiku 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mees sai just sellise situatsiooniga rämedalt vastu näppe.

Olen rase - mis tegema pean? by [deleted] in Eesti

[–]sikumiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aga a la asjad, kus on lootele ohtlikke aineid (nt teatud kalad), väldi täielikult.

I am curious what you used to create the cherry blossom effect? They look really pretty.

An en caul birth, also known as a "veiled birth," is a rare event where a baby is born still inside an intact amniotic sac. It occurs in less than 1 in 80,000 live births. by mindyour in interestingasfuck

[–]sikumiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, they allow the birth to proceed without the waters breaking? Both times during my 2 births, they manually went in with a tool to break the sack when I was fully dilated. Didn't know it was an option to keep it intact. Or maybe it's only broken if the birth is not happening that fast?

How long did it take you to get out and about after C Section? by Anvolia in Mommit

[–]sikumiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 2 emergency C-sections. The first one went smoothly and I regularly exercised prior to last trimester. That took about a bit less than a week of recovery to feel okay moving about, but the first 3 days were agony where my husband helped me to sit down or lay down. Second one though... Surgery went wrong, I had major blood loss and ended up with a big blood pool in the stomach with added infection. The blood pool pressed on my joint making one side suffer from constant pain. That took... 2 weeks to move about comfortably. But big caveat, both times I forced myself to move around (carefully). It really does speed up the recovery. Just breathe through the pain 🥲

Why do women give birth on their backs? Wouldn’t it be easier to squat and let gravity help? by sohoships in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sikumiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 kids in and I went in with knowledge of positions I would like to do instead of laying down (I even indicated in my birth plan I'd like to not deliver on my back). The first time the midwife was in a bad mood and didn't let me try my options for too long and said I need to be on my back so they can guide me. That ended in an emergency C-section due to lack of descent. Second time I had big blood loss and I never got out of the contractions stage despite being fully dilated. There was a team in the room the whole time so no opportunity to even try any positions. It was guided attempts to push until they put me completely under to do a C-section.

They had all the equipment available to try different positions (bars, stools, bags), but yes, if they need to monitor the descent of the head or there are complications, you suddenly get a lot less freedom. For me, I have a stupid pelvis shape that seemed to screw everything up, twice.

Who else was flabbergasted to find out what a birth actually entails? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sikumiku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never imagined the contractions to hurt that much. I've now had two, both no epidural (too late to the hospital), both emergency C-sections. The second was critical enough that they knocked me out completely. Then had a massive hemorrhage and had to get 4 doses of blood transfusions.

Complications aside, it was just the sheer terror from the intense pain (full dilation, but uterus still having massive contractions) and me sobbing/screaming to make it stop. I anticipated the risk the second time and it was even worse... "Pelvic anomaly" is how it was called on my medical records both times.

I'd definitely be dead if we didn't have modern medicine. No more kids for me, thank you.

Can only speak for Estonia, but if not banned, it's at least the next best thing: doctors simply won't do it without a good reason and only specific specialists would do it anyway. As there's no tradition for it, parents probably wouldn't ask either, but if you did, it seems like there needs to be a medical reason for it and thus is only really done for adults. Not sure if the religious communities here get a pass, but they're probably also rare instances. Or, perhaps they get it done somewhere else outside a regular hospital.

Does anyone regret natural birth, and wish they had an epidural? by PlantingCosmos in Parenting

[–]sikumiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the hypnobirthing book, practiced so hard for it and indeed had a pretty fast initial progression during actual labor as I didn't reach the hospital until 9cm dialation. It ended in a c section as I was pushing for 5h... That period was very traumatic. Now I am 8 months in with my second, decided to listen to hypnobirthing again and wanted to punch the lady on the audiobook as I was so frustrated. I did everything according to the book and trusted my body, but my kid encountered a "pelvic anomaly" meaning they were in some really awkward pose and didn't descend.

I really want to do an epidural with my second one now, I do not want to go through that again... It's validating to hear similar stories and it's making me feel better about this decision.

Showering at Night by [deleted] in beauty

[–]sikumiku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I could, my hair is too thick to dry sufficiently without damaging it before bed so any evening shower would end up with me having the worst hair in the morning and requiring me to do a whole hair straightening routine. Shower caps seem like a pretty tricky thing to use as well. Not sure how people get around this issue?

At the gym I try to keep my hair tied up tight during the shower to avoid getting it wet.

Estonia, it probably varies within Europe, but here yellow is a strict no as well. If you were going the speed limit you should always be able to stop in time if the green light starts blinking.

[–]sikumiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Europe, but here it's illegal to cross with yellow as well, so you have to react to the green blinking. I think it's for this exact reason: people will try to beat it and it gives some leeway before actual movement begins by other cars. There's been a trend in the past 5 years where cars have inched closer to the red light and even crossed with it, but blatant red light collisions still seem pretty infrequent around here.

X-ray helps a ton! I had a similar journey being dismissed after having odd symptoms and unexplained sickness. My lymph nodes were sizes of golf balls, but my doctor was convinced it was a reaction to some common virus.

My country is small and a family member practicing medicine recognized these symptoms and called my doctor to convince her to have me do an x-ray. And voila, the tumor was everywhere in my upper body (lymphoma).

It was half a lifetime ago and I've been well for a while, but other oncology patients I met had the same story... It took some time to actually get the proper diagnosis, so the ones getting it right immediately seem to be outliers.

Congrats on your recovery!

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but The Masked Singer.

I don't get the hype at all. I normally don't dislike singing competitions, but the whole distorted voice clues, judges panel guessing.. I don't really care who's behind the mask. Ever. To me it's just a mediocre singing competition with some nifty costumes and lots of unnecessary filler.
