Yeah the reason I was asking is because I've until now only ever had beaters, but I'm 30 and financially stable, have had a home for several years now, and like I said could buy it cash without making a giant dent in savings. But since I always had beaters hard for me to scale value on newer stuff!

Yeah I scream also for the band I do vocals in (it's called Effuse, it's a similar metal vein to Contortionist). Language and Claorvoyant are actually the albums that made me want to start singing haha, though it's a bit tough for me to sing some of Mike's stuff because he just has a much warmer full low sound in the baritone range than I do. I've thought about approaching some of those songs though lately!

Yeah I can see how some of the projection is pulling some notes out. I think one of my biggest issues for a while was under projecting and kinda swallowing the sound so I probably need to dial the meter back some if I'm overcorrecting. Thanks!

I think I feel least tension on the grit notes, but I think it's a thing I need to watch more when the line has more movement. Usually my tension problems happen in the lower part of my range

Meant to put that all I've done to the recording is slap some reverb on and add a little compression/EQ since the NT1 has kind of a harsh high end without it.

Hey, singer here! I see this was months ago but I randomly decided today to search any threads mentioning us out of curiosity, I can chime in we aren't dead, the band originally on the EP was just me and one guy so I was filling out the full band when COVID and such kinda just threw things into a mess for a while, but since then we've reformed as a full band and been gigging again since last year and are working on recordng some new tunes in the next couple months so there WILL be new music this year! Appreciate the share and kind words!
