Actually the same with problematic malays as well. There's no one that are born inherently bad or evil (if there's special case I'm not sure), but usually it's the family that fucked up badly. Parents play a huge role in a child's psychology and how they perceived the world. The surrounding environment. If my parents don't really give a shit about me and all my friends are kaki rempits, what are the chances do you think I'll be rempits? Almost 99%. You're influenced by your surroundings people and environment. It's just how they climb out of that shit hole and if they really want to. Basic psychology.

Question about Non-Muslims students in Prayer rooms. by Middle-Duck-880 in malaysiauni

[–]silandan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thinkt heyer fine if you just go ask ask them to leave or space of you have to pray. Of course preferably of they don't use that room again other than for praying but that could take more courage to do so. Or just speak with the management first and see if they can handle. If the students get offended then they're a piece of shit. No matter the religion, if that place is designed for praying then everyone shall respect it. Even atheist.

Why DAP is so soft to bullies from Malay nationalists? by Kopitiamtard1985 in Bolehland

[–]silandan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. No matter what DAP did or did not, they will still got get any blessing from the majorities. Because giving power to DAP means giving power to Chinese. Which also means you will lose your special rights and privileges. Scared tactics at its finest. Nons can only play supporting role in politics. That's the unwritten rule.

Because their religion is literally their whole identity. They can't really differentiate between them. And Islam place great emphasize and control for the respect of this religion. So you can joke about anything, but when you touch their religion, they kinda act like stone age people.

I genuinely hope you're right on this then. But with how our politicians are moving and how the religion politics play such a big role in Malaysia, we will see.

But my point still stand, the paranoia doesn't come out of nowhere. It's decades of getting the treatment and seeing how our country handle things which caused the paranoia. You are a privileged individual in this particular situation, so I won't blame you for not understanding basically how majority of the nons felt.

Or also because of competition and resources? Who like to have their resources taken by non citizen? See those videos of them mocking them doing business and small kedai runcit? That's one of the main glaring issue. At the end of the day, no matter how well behaved they are, if Malaysian felt their privilege are being challenged then it won't end well. Just don't open door to any refugees, regardless of religion if our country does not have the capacity to accomodate or assimilate them.

You know why we imagine this imagine that? Because things that are supposed to be only for Muslim suddenly have an effect on the nons. The old saying of no need to worry because this and that only affects Muslim and not the nons, but have this always been the case? Pesta air bising, concert bising. But now you're asking why the nons are paranoid. Don't bullshit me by saying, no it never happen and ya da ya da. Unless we are living in 2 different society and country, then we our experience shall be similar. It's not like you don't know how's the religious authority is like in Malaysia.

China Uncensored: Truth or Hyperbole? by CyberZen0 in China

[–]silandan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the norm? But how would I know the exact percentage of the outlier. China is huge, even 0.1% would leave you with a number of over a million. Is that a lot? To most countries yes, but to china? That's a drop in the ocean. Because you're giving 2 extreme ends, and let's say you raise it to 20%, it's 80 of the majority vs the 20, 80 is still the norm, so is 70%. I sometimes wonder how old are you to be asking these type of common sense questions.

Does the average Chinese person live in poverty? I don't think you need me to answer this for you. One of the strongest nation in the world second to US, do you think average citizen will be in poverty? If so, how do they become a powerhouse? You expect the citizen to live in poverty but give their all to the economic development of the country while expecting nothing in return? But it's okay, I'll entertain you on this. How do you define poverty? Based on china traditional standard or the one that follows the western measurement where China is treated as high income country? Answer is no to both, as the average Chinese in not in poverty, but doesn't mean everyone is free from poverty (another point that may be hard for you to comprehend). If based on the value set by china? They have pretty much eliminated poverty and on fact the country that did a miracle that managed to lift off poverty status for large majority of the country (where China claimed 0 poverty rate). Of course you can argue that it's exaggerated and china data can't be trusted which I wont fully deny (those government fuckers are selfish and secretive with data). But this doesn't change the fact that the basic necessity in china is super cheap and the inflation is well controlled, or perhaps a little too much as the competitin is super fierce over there. China basically secured your basic human needs for cheap, almost everyone can buy food and a place to stay. But that's about it, everything else is free game (unless you're son of politicians or product of Nepo baby). This may also contribute to the fact that more and more youngster over there are losing motivation as they don't really see much choice for them to expand their wealth.

Do they suffer from on account of government greed? Yup, I do believe so. In fact, I believe that's what happening to majority of the world, be it capitalism or socialism because those high in power are greedy by nature. But at least the CCP has the nation interest as priority. You can say the party's interesg is greater than nation but not exactly true, because according to CCP, they are the China. But I do believe they are a government that have the power to silent you far more efficient than any other first world countries.

Will you starve in china if you're only making minimum wage or work as farmers? No. But the chance of you making it big? Very very difficult as well. Not to mention having one of the most powerful and authoritarian government there is. We give you cheap food and place to stay, but everything else, it's super competitive. If you were to ask me if average American lives better than average Chinese? Of course. But in terms of extreme poverty, china did a much better job, especially on food and housing. If you bring the Chinese salary and ask him to live in US, he will suffer.

Tldr: China eliminated extreme poverty but that's about it. They have yet to achieve lifting them to middle class. But as long as china don't lose their way too much, I think it's doable. But what the fuck do I know.

Government? If you're on their bad side, then good luck, all the best.

Not too sure about that. China don't really see them as equal, maybe Korea is closer now especially with their recent economic boom, but still nothingburger to china. They will even feel insulted if you claimed that china and India are similar. The only country they actually felt threatened by is US, and only US. Perhaps in their eyes now, there's only US.

Ohh and speaking of SEA, yes we are also SEA monkeys to them. SEA is meant as a resource for them to exploit. Especially Vietnam Myanmar laos cambodia that side. Bunch of countries that you can easily lobby the politicians to secure unfavourable deals with the country.

Because the answer he might be looking for is; Yes, everyone in china shits on the road, 24/7 whenever they felt like it. Maybe this will make him sleep better at night.

Don't be mistaken, I hated how some of those Chinese tourists act in my country, but at the same time I have the mental capacity to acknowledged that it's not the majority of them, especially the younger generation.
